He also plays at Southeastern, that certainly doesn't hurt us.

And if Gholston posted here we should say nothing??

Well he reportedly walked up to Coach D and introduced himself today while at camp (which is itself a good sign) and was spotted chatting with him on at least two other occasions during today's workouts (another god sign) while he repped at 2-3 different positions. This makes his second trip to EL this summer. Not only does this bode well for MSU but I think 2 other key factors must be kept in mind: (1) his feelings for the buckeyes are based in large measure to the fact that his cousin Vernon went there . . . . and who recruited Vernon to OSU? Answer = (hmm, I wonder what Vernon will tell William about ?); and (2) starting this fall William will be attending Detroit SE which just sent 2 players to MSU and is coached by a D. English who likes MSU a lot because of the way Fred Smith and Charles Burrell were recruited. There is a definite positive green & white vibe in the halls of Se these days. Also, keep in mind that every player MSU lands from the City of Detroit makes it that much more fashionable for other D players to keep the new El pipeline "tradition" going. There's no doubt that OSU is a formidable foe in recruiting. But, all in all, there are some compelling reasons to believe and Coach Enos will make MSU a MAJOR player for big William's services over the next couple years.

I'm not going to rehash stuff that's been said, but we have two distinct advantages:

Tom Izzo and Kellen Freeman-Davis.

#1: William is a baller....on the field and the court. There's a chance he could play both here. So playing for MD in the fall and Izzo in the spring? Don't underestimate that.

#2: I'm sure William noticed that KFD scored several TDs last year for us, AND got reps at DE and even notching two sacks on the year. William might be that kind of athelete.

OSU Lock? I think not. I doubt he wouldn've been here again this weekend chatting up coaches if that were true.

Guys, while I am sure this kid is great, and of course I would love to have him in the Green and White, isnt calling this kid a lean to anywhere, MSU or otherwise a bit pointless?

He has two full seasons of football left and anything can happen. We have 2 great coaches in place that are leading our teams the Spartan way. A lot can happen in 2 years (or even one until he commits) that could sway opinion.

Speculating on him being a lean anywhere at this point really makes no difference.

The fact that he is talking to our coaches means this to me. He will see what character guys we have, what type of program we are building, and our facilities, and make the decision that is best for him.

I loved Vernon as a player, guy was a freaking monster. I will root for this kid wherever he goes. I just think its a little silly to say a kid is a lean or a lock just after his sophomore school year ends. Basketball, sure, because kids commit so early. A lot can happen here and the fact that he is talking to our coaches is a good sign.
