The obvious guess here would be a written scholarship offer. It is 9/1 after all....

Was William at the game.I saw something on scout and the kid looked like him. That would be amazing that he he visited MSU and his brother played for osu.Everyone thought that he was a lock for them,if it was him he was wearing an MSU hat

He was at the game, but not wearing an MSU hat. Still likely an OSU lock.

Scout.com: Gholston Gets to Know Green & White

I guess I misread the captions for the photos or they had them out of order.

Not much substance probably, but still nice to see we're the only school listed in his Scout profile.

It's actually a pretty good article. Says that he might be up for the next two games as well. The ND game could be pretty huge recruiting wise seeing all the names that are planning on attending.

I meant his profile that shows his numbers and teams of interest. We're the only team listed. you were talking about the article right? This does sound much better than it did 2 months ago. I'm not holding my breath, but still feels better.

MSU and MD are very much in it for William's services.

Not a lock for the Buckeyes. If I had to guess it would be 55/45 Buckeyes right now.

It is an MSU/OSU race and will be a great recruitment to follow.

Like the shape we are in.

I guess there's another stud DE in Ohio (not jamel turner but in addition too) that OSU's after hard. I dont think he's a lock for an OSU offer.

I was hanging out behind the stadium after the game watching the players exit. When I saw dixon, norman and Micajah Reynolds hanging around.

walked out and I'm pretty sure he immediately greated and started talking to Will Gholston and his entire family.

Love the picture of William in a Spartan hat!! As a poster who is certainly not as in the know as several of you, how often is it that a recruit visits and does not wear the gear of the school he is visiting?? When a player is in for an official or un-official, do they always where the school colors or will they just walk around in street clothes??

on Official visits they give you clothes, for him to be wearing msu gear now on an un-official means he bought it himself

OSU has offered J.T. Moore, and while OSU insiders disagree on when it will happen (some say by the end of the season, others say within a couple weeks), they all agree that he's going to commit to OSU in short order. At that point, does Tressel recruit over Jamel Turner and offer Gholston, when he knows that OSU is way out in front with Turner? Probably not. If OSU doesn't offer, you have to like our chances....

That means he probably has the Spartans high on his list.Normally recruits do not wear the teams apparel, the ones I saw in the skandalaris building were not.

Stats, I know you have a pretty good pulse of what the OSU guys are thinking will happen from keeping up with Bucknuts....question; do you know for sure they are looking at him as a DE? I ask because I seem to recall from this summer camps that some of the Mag guys were really impressed with Gholston at TE.

Of course, I think with this kid, you take him, and worry about the position he will play later.

Between Bucknuts & BuckeyePlanet, it's not terribly hard to find out exactly what JT & Co. are thinking.

That said, there's no such talk of him playing TE on the OSU sites. That's not to say that it won't materialize, but I think that discussion originated on the MSU sites and was seen as much more of a possibility here. OSU fans just want the next Vern, so they've probably got a little tunnel vision right now. The main factor here is what happens with Turner's weight. The OSU staff thinks he might be able to play LB, but he's tall enough that he could(will?) put on 40-50 pounds easily. If his weight naturally increases over the coming months, they'll have no choice but to put him at DE, so at this point, we should be pulling for him to add some serious pounds.

The fact that we have grown men trying to perform psychological and in-depth analysis into a HS junior's 'possible' Facebook comment makes me .
