No, I just wanted to know what 'hitting on something' means.

I think it means that (obviously) he has been hearing from the MSU staff, and that MSU has said something that has struck a chord with him, something that he likes, something that he is strongly going to consider...." MSU is hitting on something"....my two cents....

Wow, fantastic. I like the small but good news. I like it even more that he's sending it to Campbell. I agree, they are striking a cord with him. Great news.

J.T. Moore committed to OSU today.

And this guy:
Darryl Baldwin - Football Recruiting
Scout.com: Darryl Baldwin Profile
also has an offer from OSU. So Moore + Turner + Baldwin = OSU has 3 DE offers ahead of Gholston. No respect for Big Will! Better come to EL where you're choice #1.

Turner would be a Levon Kirkland-sized LB, but I guess it's possible.
And Moore's playing DT at 216lbs? Maybe in DickRod's system.
Scout.com: J.T. Moore Profile
Bryant doesn't have an offer from OSU yet.
But even if we assume that Turner will play jumbo LB and Moore will move inside, they're still in the driver's seat for Baldwin and would appear to be if they offer Bryant, and Bryant certainly seems like the early offer type. In any event, the DE logjam in Columbus is certainly good news for us (have to imagine we'd have good shot with any of these prospects should they not end up at OSU).

turner is 6'4" 210lbs with 2 years of highschool left, he'll be a DE in college.
More's about 220lbs likely a DE as well

Well obviously you must be in with Tressel.
Because Brian Snow and Marc Gilver of Buckeye grove and Ohio Varsity respectively have said OSU is recruiting him at LB.
Now unless you have more info then them on OSU recruiting, which I don't think you do then maybe you are onto something.

Turner will be a linebacker. He's closer to 6'2" than he is 6'4".
Moore could move inside, but right now he's a DE.
Bryant is more likely to move inside if/when he gets an offer.
Gholston will be getting his offer soon, likely the next time he visits(Tressel likes to hand out the early offers in person unless the player is way out of state, like Sentreal Henderson in Minnesota).

I think Baldwin will move in and Bryant will stay on the outside.
I do think that Gholston ends up a Spartan though.

yea me and tressel go way back,
jamels has a DE frame, and its obvious that he'll do a lot more filling out before he gets to college. That much is obvious to the untrained eye.
I dont believe people who follow recruiting for a living are omniscient to everything. Its just my personal opinion having seen the kid that he'll wind up as a DE

Per BP, OSU's staff told Moore he will be a DE.
Also rumblings that they will take three DEs this year. Hopefully Baldwin pulls the trigger soon and Bryant gets his offer....

Yeah wouldn't shock me with those 3. Moore at DE fits.
After reading the new article on SpartanMag though I am not sure if I am worrying about that.
Just produce on the field and I feel confident.
