WHY ARE WE STILL TALKING CAMPBELL? Here we have a fantastic chance at one of the best players in the state for next year, a kid with great bloodlines, and we're talking about a kid we have little chance with. Gholston please!

Does anyone think GHOLSTON will play TE or is the need for DE to great? Moves very well and has very long arms.

he will be a DE. We already have a transfer that will play TE and we still might get Sims

He's got a Michigan offer now:
Scout.com: North Recruiting Notebook
Is this something to be worried about? I know Vernon was saying he could commit real soon to us.

You sure? He was at the Wisky game and from the reports he didn't sound so clear to MSU.

Michigan is a player from him and everyone claiming he is a lock they are mistaken. Granted a week ago he was very high on us and nothing has changed.
Yes he was at the Wisconsin game and had a great time and Michigan made up some ground.
However from reports he may not want to play DE which is the only position Michigan would offer him at IMO.

I would agree with you until they signed Roh and Lalota. Maybe they changed their tune? Don't know thats just my guess.

If he wants to play TE which is rumored, I don't see him going to Michigan over MSU.
Unless by some chance we get Sims.
Just my opinion though.

neither him or his family are big michigan fans, to put it mild-ly, I'm sure he liked the offer though, that way when he picks msu him and msu people can brag about how he turned down michigan
pretty much every one is recruiting him as a Defensive end, I'm not sure he's even caught a single pass this year for Southeastern

I dont think he's a TE and I dont believe anybody's recruiting him as one, he really likes and excels on defense

I'd love to hear what helmholt said,
when has a recruit ever given negative feedback about a visit? I'm sure he said he enjoyed himself blah blah blah

I am pretty sure he told some people this weekend that he wants to play on the offensive side of the ball. Maybe GoBluefromOhio has heard the same thing as it was said at the Michigan game reportedly.
And yes he has caught plenty of passes this season as a TE.
I personally think he would make a better TE than DE but he could be good at both. Just think he can be better sooner at TE.

I wonder if he has met Mr. Kellen Davis of the Chicago Bears?

where has this info come from?, not saying it's wrong but I've been told differently,
he's caught one pass this year for 3 yards (official stats taken from maxpreps.com)
Maxpreps - William Gholston Boys Football Fall 08-09 Season Stats
not exactly plenty, I'm sorry but I think you're wrong on this.

And no offense but, I will take Dorsey's opinion over yours and he just had a catch for 30 yards this past weekend so clearly MaxPreps is a little off.

that is not exactly info I would run with, clearly none of those idiots know what they're talking about in regards to gholston or his recruitment since he's obviously a big msu lean.
he wants to play defense, I'm sorry if you choose to listen to anything those idiots say but gholston is being recruited as and wants to be a defensive end.
they may have worked him a little bit as a TE in camp but thats no big deal, they try practically everybody at different positions to see what they can do.

where did dorsey say he'd be a tight-end in college?, he might of said he looked good working as a te in some drills but everybody I've heard is projecting him as a Defensive End.
I've never heard gholston mention how he perfers tight end either rather the opposite

It was in the summer time after our 2nd or 3rd camp.
I am not going to post what he said as it is premium info and it would get myself in some heat.
Go on the bunker and ask and Dorsey will tell you what his opinions were.
Look you claim he isn't high on Michigan yet he goes to a game. I am sorry but if I wasn't high on a team I wouldn't take a Saturday and go see a football game with a team I had no interest of playing for.
I just think it will take Gholston longer to transition to the college game as a DE. He is going to have issue keeping his pad level low enough to get great leverage and I think it would take him 2-3 years to transition. Just my opinion though.
As for the Michigan stuff, some things I believe and some things I don't. I wouldn't be surprised if the stuff about him wanting to play TE is true.
They have their insiders as well they are not wrong on everything or a lot of things for that matter. Sure they miss on some stuff but so do the Mag staff.

Keep in mind will campbell was just here for the notre dame game, michigan is only about 25-30 minutes away from home, I've hated uofm my entire life but my friends have still dragged me to a few games and I managed to enjoy myself.
a uofm offer is still bragging rights and it only makes him more coveted to us now.
I think the whole pad level thing is over-rated theres a lot of tall de's out there, gholston plays most of the time standing up (as a linebacker) in highschool
he has a ton of ability obviously and he could probably excel at either position, I'd just like to see some more guys with his ability on the defensive side.
I do respect your opinion though, sorry if I come across as a bit of a hard ass most of the time, I just get irked by the uofm schticks
