Yeah but what does Gholston & family want?

Didn't mean it in that respect, but in the sense that if Urban wants him, he's truly the real deal (as if we didn't already know that) given the types of DEs that Florida throws out there every year.

Hopefully it is his last visit as an uncommitted prospect.
Have to imagine he will be at MSU next week for our first junior day. Would be great to get him in the fold next week.

Agreed. The longer this plays out, I think the worse our chances become. And Gholston is the type of player we need to build up or program. Hopefully this kid is Green soon.

Agree as well. From everything I've heard he's on the verge of committing in the immediate to very near future. If he isn't committed by the end of February I would start to worry a little bit but not a whole lot. This will be a long process though.

Gholston lays out a plan $
Enjoyed his visit to U of M and likes that Robinson likes him at LB.
He says he is pretty sure he won't make an early decision, says the Spartans are #1 or 2 on his list.

Robinson has 1) clearly lost his marbles or 2) is tempting William with false promises.
Probably 2, but there is no such thing as a 6'7 LB.

Not a good sign IMHO.
Wasn't he supposedly going to commit to MSU early before? Or is my memory slipping? The longer he's on the open market, the uglier/shadier the process could get.

I'm inclined to be insecure about this. Especially since he has an offer from Florida. The longer this goes on the more the E.J. Joneses of the world get involved.

Gholston is a smart kid, if he goes elsewhere it will be his own decision.
Not a family advisor.
And Florida isn't a big factor here.
Only two schools I worry about and it isn't anyone from the SEC one is located in Ohio and the other is in California.

Will is without a doubt the most important must get recruit for MSU since Lamarr Woodley. Early in the process Lamarr favored MSU; he was best friends with Clifton Ryan and really liked Bobby Williams. Well after our disastrous season and Bobby Williams was let go he just couldn't see himself playing for John L. That was a huge loss. The difference between him and Gholston is most see Gholston as a MSU lock already, which means we need to do a good job recruiting him to not lose him. I trust Dantonio will do a good job, but we really need this recruit. He will be the impact DE we have been missing and will shut up the Michigan fans about how they always get the top player in the state every year still.

I agree there, but a pass rushing DE is desperate position of need at the moment...we've gone too many years now w/o recruiting a good one....which puts a strain on the secondary, which fortunately has stepped up last year.

I really believe that we have the inside track on the top players in the state now since RR has adopted that special spread O. However the defensive side of the ball still might be quite competitive with us. Getting Will and with Max already verballed we would have a great start for 2210. I watched both these kids last season and they are very talented and musts for our program. Getting Will committed early would be HUGE!!!!!
