WOW....first time I've seen any film of this guy. Love the flying leap tackle on the QB whose trying to end run his way to the endzone. This guys seams to have very strong hands. Once he grabs hold.....your going down.
I know I'm dating myself but he reminds me of Ted Hendricks playing linebacker for Miami U back in the late 60's. Big, tall, fast and plays with a nasty streak.
Hope we land this kid.

ESPNU 150 Watch List defensive end William Gholston told affiliate Web site InsideTheU.com, "My biggest offers are from Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Miami, Michigan, Michigan State, Wisconsin, Purdue, Illinois and Notre Dame."

Gholston also explained what he's looking for, "What's important to me is how comfortable I feel on campus, what the environment is like, and how I feel about the coaches. Like if I have a really good feeling about the coaches, I want to see if they can help me and do something with me. Academics and location don't really matter to me, because I think I can find what I want to major in at basically any school, and location is just not a factor at all."

Last fall, he registered 102 tackles and 15 sacks. As a sophomore, he posted 75 tackles and nine sacks.

One of the top prospects in the Midwest, defensive end William Gholston (Detroit, Mich./Southeastern), has 14 scholarship offers. His list includes Michigan, Michigan State, Florida, Florida State, Miami, Alabama, Tennessee, Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois, Notre Dame and Oregon.

"I'm also looking at a few schools that haven't offered yet like Clemson, Ohio State and USC," Gholston said.

Gholston may soon tighten that list.

"In the next two weeks I think I'll try to narrow it down to seven," Gholston said. "I know some of them are going to be Michigan, Michigan State, Miami, Florida, and maybe Alabama and Notre Dame."

Gholston is on the Southeastern basketball team which has made it to the Sweet 16 in the state basketball tournament. Because of his basketball schedule Gholston hasn't visited any schools recently. Once basketball is over he plans to change that.

"I know I want to go to Alabama and Miami for spring games," Gholston said. "And I'd like to go to Michigan's and Michigan State's spring games."

The 6-foot-7 and 237-pound Gholston made 102 tackles including 15 sacks during his junior season. Gholston made 108 tackles including 19 sacks during his sophomore season at Detroit Mumford.

This kid is just a freak of nature and I can't wait until he becomes a Spartan...it'll be one of the biggest commitments in the last 20 yrs IMO. He has superstar written all over him and he's going to step in and fill a need on our D that will be terrific even before he gets in. The thing I love most is that everytime you see him/talk to him he's all about the Spartans and we are all about him.

Didn't the good doctor call the Edwin Baker commitment a month or two before it happened based on a conversation he had with him? Maybe it wasn't The Rock, but it was one of the blue chippers we landed last year.

he called that both Caper and Baker would be wearing the Green and White before the official announcement. his information is very credible.

It doesn't take an insider to know that Gholston likes MSU.

I'm not using insider information at this point, just very optimistic. If Gholston commits early enough though, expect a domino effect much like last year. His commitment and the timing of it might be crucial (in a positive way).

I don't think we'll get that. He's talking like he wants to take it slow and make lots of visits over the summer before making a decision.

The whole concept of this hybrid is BS, Gholston will be headed at the QB 80% of the time even in that system.
