From ESPN:

Under Armour All-American William Gholston names his favorites
ESPNU 150 Watch List defensive end William Gholston listed his top schools for affiliate Web site CrimsonConfidential.com.

"I've known them for a long time, but this is the first time I'm telling somebody. Michigan State, Ohio State, USC, Tennessee, Alabama, Florida, Miami-FL, Michigan and Oklahoma."

He added, "Most of my top schools are out of state. That's not a big deal to me, though. It's all about liking the coaches and feeling comfortable with the school and coaches."

Several other programs including Illinois, Iowa, Cincinnati, Notre Dame, Oregon, Florida State, Wisconsin, Purdue, LSU and Clemson.

Last fall, he registered 108 tackles, 22 tackles for loss, 16 sacks, four forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.

If that's a direct quote, you gotta like him mentioning MSU first

The statement that favors MSU more is this quote...."It's all about liking the coaches and feeling comfortable with the school and coaches." ....no way does that sound like UM

I wouldn't be surprised at all if that roughly follows his order of preference. He's said elsewhere that he has a Top 5. If you told me WIll Gholston's top 5 was MSU, OSU, USC, Tenn, and Alabama in that order, I would 100% believe you.

and to win that battle vs. those teams would be a big deal. I think MD gets this done.

New article on scout.

How a recruit has to be asked about his tuxedo choice is beyond me.

There is no doubt that the guy you want to send off the bus first is William Gholston (Detroit/Southeastern). This budding superstar was the most physically impressive man in Champaign on Saturday. He proved to have speed off the edge when lining up at defensive end and often beat the offensive tackle before the opponent could kick back and anchor down
Quote:
If a "look test" award were given out, it almost certainly would have gone to Gholston, another ESPNU 150 Watch List prospect. Gholston not only looked great physically, but he showed speed and agility for a big guy. On more than one occasion, Gholston blew by his opponent with an outside speed rush.

OSU-MSU battling for Gholston?
Nobody passed the "look test" better than ESPNU 150 Watch List defensive end William Gholston. During a break in the action, Gholston said USC, Ohio State, Michigan State, Alabama, Tennessee and Florida were schools prominent on his list. However, the talk around Memorial Stadium on Saturday was that Gholston's decision could easily come down to the Buckeyes or Spartans.

Thoughts? Getting pretty ansy over here to be honest with you....

Agree. I think we have a great shot of landing him (and ultimately think we will) I'm just ready to hear it from him. Unfortunetely, I think it will be Fall before he makes a decision.

Relax, all signs show he is a heavy lean. He is a huge recruit with a lot of schools coming at him right now and he wants to take in the experience.

I hope your right, he is huge national recruit for us to get even though he is a Michigan kid...he is most likely will be the difference between a great recruiting class and a good/average class

relax... is not going to allow for a dropoff...and there won't be...not with this schedule.

Yeah, we should definitely not be talking trash about this kid. He could wind up a recruitment target soon.

For what it's worth, I suspect reports of his 'domination' over Gholston are probably overstated. Gholston still walked out of that camp with top marks from everybody there.
