He kind of is.

Big addition to our class of '09... kinda.

Nice, So that will make way for Maxwell to start as a junior or red shirt sophomore then....solid. Id say were set there for the forseeable future

huh?

Nichol can't play until '09, same as Maxwell.

They'll battle for a starting spot. Naturally Keith Nichol has some advantage already having already played college football for a major program, but Maxwell still has a good chance to beat out KN for the starting job.

yea i guess i missed it by a year, assuming maxwell takes a redshirt, he would then have two years once Nichol is gone, since Nichol already lost a year of eligibility

They might've taken it down because of this... a RCMB user broke the news here only seconds after it appeared on Spartanmag.

I have a problem with you taking info off this board and running over to the RCMB. If you want access to this board cool it. People pay money for this site and your actions violate their right to exclusive information.

You are in the penalty box.

We all appreciate Spartanmag, so we gotta cool it a little and make sure we share info the right way. Best way to do that is post news, but stay away from pasting insider premium stuff.

Regardless, this is great news. For those of you that have hated on Nichol, let me ask you this:

Did you ever make mistakes when you were 17? We all did.

So let's welcome the kid who liked MSU in the beginning and liked MSU enough to return knowing he'd receive some guff over it. Adding 4 star talent is a good thing, he wears our colors so let's help him help us win, not make it harder.

I'll always accept players with excellent talent on my team. Personally, I will welcome him back with open arms and hope he helps lead MSU to the Rose Bowl!

This kid is pretty mobile isnt he? It will be interesting to see how a more mobile QB does in our new Offense.

Yes, he is mobile. I think he'll play like a pro-style qb, but if protection breaks down, he'll make great plays on the move and pickup big yardage. I'm excited.

ok let me see if i got this straight.

Foles, Cousins and Nichols will be in the same class (I think Nichol will burn his RS this up coming year) Putting them all as Sophs fall 09 when Maxwell comes in. Maxwell will RS that year putting him 2 years behind those 3. So in 2011(ish) we will have 3 qbs graduating off the roster assuming no one transfers.

This whole thing was just a feeler to test the fanbase reaction. The response from the RCMB made up his mind to go elsewhere.

That's the perception I got when I watched a few of his videos.

He's a more fluid runner than Stanton, but that doesn't necessarily mean better or worse - Drew always had a way of making things happen. Nichol is very athletic though

How about a Alex Smith comparison? It just occured to me, but I'm not sure if it's right.

I'm pumped though...I think it's great. And if is on board, I'm sold...

Actually, I dont see where I was wrong...Wont Nichol use his RS year by sitting out this year? making him the same class as Foles and Cousins? (RS sophomores) when Maxwell arrives??

Don't worry about fan reaction for Keith. Most of these fans are the same fans who love Chelios now, only years after wanted him to die a painful death. You think people were rabid about Nichol? Damn, the things I heard reagrding Chelios before he wore the Winged Wheel were ten times worse, and much more widespread. Hell, I'll bet 80% of campus doesn't even know the entire story with Nichol.

Welcome KN, if true

Nichol would not have to burn a redshirt on his "sitting out" year, I don't believe.

Just watched Keith's senior highlights on Rivals.

Jaw dropped, excitement multiplied.

Either he redshirts next year or burns a year of eligibility on the bench.
