The Official 2008 Summer Camp thread
I thought we could have a dedicated thread to discuss this summer's camps.
Add discussions on: rumored and confirmed attendees, stories/results from camp etc.
First camp is June 21,22
Fully expect all the current commits in attendance and many Michigan players. e.g. Gainer, Benton, Dixon, Chapman, Harrington, Matthias
Bigger questions are the out of state attendees. I hope to see OH, IL, FL and TX represented at minimum.

It has been way to quiet on the recruiting front, it will be good to get into summer camps and get a few commits rolling in.

If we get him, it's probably going to be later in the summer than sooner...but Bellamy looks like he could be a GREAT talent and seems very interested in us. Benton, Chapman, Gainer, and Gordon are a few others I wouldn't be suprised to see commit later on in the month or month after.

I don't think Bellamy committing during camp or shortly after is that far fetched at this point. Have to see if he lands any major offers.
However OSU camp is before ours and he will have a good idea of where he stands at that time.
He wants to decide before his senior year so it will be during summer. Not sure what offers may sway him, besides an OSU offer. Also not sure where he is exactly trying to camp at. He has a good list of offers right now and we are rumored to be his leader. So that is definitely a good sign.
A camp that is going to be very crucial to us is OSU's. We are in on a ton of players that may get offers from there. Clearly not all of them will. However a guy like Hugh Thornton, Adam Bellamy, Nate Klatt, Patrick White and others may get offers. Hopefully we can get them all of them out of there without an offer but I can see Klatt and maybe Bellamy get an offer.

OSU is offering many players that we were in early on (so has ND). I will be pleased when they are full.
Not sure how many skilled position players will camp here that already have offers. Hunter, Mcdougal etc

Hunter won't wind up with OSU, I see him camping here. Possibility that McDougald does camp here, although I am surprised that McDougald hasn't committed already.
Bellamy will if he gets by OSU. They just offered a DT they are very high on recently.
Klatt is the main one I am watching very closely.

Everyone and their mom.
Honestly, the best part about the camps are these unknowns who come out to earn a spot somewhere. They'll wow us, and say who the heck is that? Hopefully some surprises will ensue.

The staff at MSU has added a camp date June 12th
a name attending that day is Adam Schneid OT from Avon Lake Ohio he has 5 offers right now and rivals michigan state site recently had an update on him.
Charles Chapman from Airport is said to be attending at some point big kid at 6'7 |

First mini-camp today. From what I hear it is a very small group of in-state lineman.
Bigger first camp this weekend with all our commits on campus. Having our big name commits on campus should help with the campers.

Camps are open. Certainly some recruits are special invites but they must pay themselves. Some may stop in for just 1 day during the high school camp session(s).
CAMP DATES
1 day mini-camp 6/12/08
1 day camps for High School entering seniors; 6/20/08 & 7/12/08
Youth Camp (for entering 3rd-8th grade) 6/22 thru 6/24/08
High School Camp; (for entering 9th-12th grade) 7/10/ thru 7/12/08
