Rivals250 Predictions
I think the rivals 250 comes out at noon tomorrow. And the new 3 stars come out the following day.
We already know Baker, Maxwell and Norman are 4 stars
What are your predictions as to what stars our commits will be?
Caper-4 star
Treadwell-4 star
Spencer- 4 star
White- (high) 3 star-chance at 4. tomorrow should be interesting
Thoughts?

I think you hit them on the head. I see them working out the way you have them listed.

I think Caper and Spencer could drop out. No real reason, just a guess.

Seems possible given how 3 of the commits are right on the edge between 3 and 4 star status.

How many non-Rivals250 players end up with 4 stars? I'm just curious about Caper, and particularly Spencer's odds of staying at that spot and White's chances of getting in.

I don't know about this year, but I think last year it was like 10-15.

Yeah, then I would bet Caper and Spencer end up as three stars. They've both stated they won't be attending any camps but MSU's this summer.

If that is the case, wow, Um sure cleaned up its share of 4 stars last year outside the top 250 with five. And from a quick count the state of florida had 12.

Really? Maybe it was the year before that then..yeah, I think it was because I remember Martell Webb having 4 stars and being one of only like 15 players to get 4 stars without being in the top 250.
My bad

there's usually atleast 2 dozen 4 star (non-juco/prep school) players outside the 250 every year.
this is part of why I was so pissed about what happened to hoover last year. If rivals doesn't think a kids top 250 that's their discretion but to me if they ever thought enough of that player to rank him high in the 100 or 250 there's no reason to yank a star unless that particular players isn't going to qualify.

Just for clarification
Rivals.com Prospect Database
About Football Ratings
Rivals.com has assembled the top team of recruiting analysts in the nation with both national and regional experts based all throughout the country. With those strengths, players at a number of different positions will be ranked once a month from June until February.
The rankings are compiled after countless hours of film evaluation, personal observations and input from professional, college and high school coaches.
In the finished product, players are ranked a number of different ways but the most important ways are numerically by position, qualitatively by stars and a new ranking system that grades players on the expected impact they will make in college.
Players are ranked numerically on a national level at their positions. The numerical ranking at each position varies depending on the depth of the talent at the position.
Players are also ranked on their quality with a star ranking. A five-star prospect is considered to be one of the nation's top 25-30 players, four star is a top 250-300 or so player, three-stars is a top 750 level player, two stars means the player is a mid-major prospect and one star means the player is not ranked.
The ranking system ranks prospects on a numerical scale from 6.1-4.9.- 6.1 Franchise Player; considered one of the elite prospects in the country, generally among the nation's top 25 players overall; deemed to have excellent pro potential; high-major prospect
- 6.0-5.8 All-American Candidate; high-major prospect; considered one of the nation's top 300 prospects; deemed to have pro potential and ability to make an impact on college team
- 5.7-5.5 All-Region Selection; considered among the region's top prospects and among the top 750 or so prospects in the country; high-to-mid-major prospect; deemed to have pro potential and ability to make an impact on college team
- 5.4-5.0 Division I prospect; considered a mid-major prospect; deemed to have limited pro potential but definite Division I prospect; may be more of a role player
- 4.9 Sleeper; no Rivals.com expert knew much, if anything, about this player; a prospect that only a college coach really knew about

I disagree, at least if you're talking about the first ranking, which are done so early that I think its completely valid to drop a guy because often times the early rankings aren't complete or exhaustive anyways.

Even so, it's strange that Caper, who was a Rivals 100 member has completely free-fallen out of the rankings. . .
