I think he fits our offense better than Cam Gordon. Especially with being the complement to Spencer.
Both Gordon and Spencer are more possession type of receivers. Fowler is a burner.

Apparently...
Rivals has done their job and grabbed everyone's attention with their useless star system. As far as I am concerned, they could all be 1-stars if MD is willing to give them a scholarship. Can't wait to see this kid's senior season, when he should be the man, and healthy. Do you think he will run track his senior year?

This kid is a legit 2* as of today. Why wouldn't he be? He missed half of the season, and while he lit it up when he wasn't hurt, he still missed most of the season. There is no reason to knock Rivals, because rating him higher would water down the system. Now we think Bennie Fowler will blow up this year (and more importantly as a spartan), but there is more chance involved, as there isn't as much tape on him, and he was hurt.

Personally I think he is 4* talent with 2 to 3* circumstances. Much like Martin, I think this kid could have had a lot of options if he let his recruiting process stretch out. I think he is a great get, seeing that he could play a couple of different positions, and I think that he will be a fantastic player at MSU.

people have to remember that the kid has only played 1/2 a season of HS football, and looked pretty good doing it.
in his highlights, the thing that stands out is the separation he's getting from the DBs. he had to slow down to catch a couple of passes and the D caught up from behind on a couple. a good college QB is going to lead his reciever and put that ball in his breadbasket w/o making him miss a stride.
you can't teach that kind of speed, and couple that with good hands, and you've got a guy who can make plays. and give this kid some time in the weight room and he could really be something.

We might be saying BFIF in a couple years. Bennie Fowler Is Fast.

6'-2" is a good frame for adding some beef. Could be a special teams standout.
Anyone remember the Rocket Ishmeal for ND? That dude had you sweating bullets when you punted to him.

I agree that Fowler seems underrated at the moment, but I'm not sure he will jump all the way to 4 stars.
I'm excited about this commitment.

Ginn comment was tongue in cheek.
No complaints about Fowler's verbal whatsoever.

We might have a wicked four wide set in a couple years with Spencer and Freddy Smith outside and Martin and Fowler in the slots. WOW. Oh, and the single back will be none other than Baker or Caper!

That sounds very exciting, and I believe Coach D will have the OL and QB to light up the scoreboard with this talented corps of receivers. The DBs will have to play the pass and when Baker/Caper break through-- OH MY!!!!!! I just cannot wait.

I can not explain how excited I am to see this offense in the future. It'll be flat out unreal. Just amazing talent at every position.

You know what else I like about this commitment, the school it comes from.
For YEARS Detroit Country Day has been pro Michigan. Now we've got one. He'll be treated right and the coaches will see what we do with him. It'll be a nice foundation to build on for future recruits. And there will be plenty from DCD in the future, there always is.

Player has incredible measurables...he could be a stud if he develops. If you don't want to support our recruits, that's on you.

What are you talking about? Just because we'll have a 4* Elite 11 QB throwing to 3-4 4* WRs (you forgot Dell will be a Jr and Sr. when these guys are Frosh and Soph), and having 2 4* RBs running behind a line featuring 3*-4* OLinemen . . . .. .oh wait, never mind

Yea, but I don't think that you'll have them line up at the same time
