'09 FL FB Tommy Bohanon (WF Verbal)
Tommy Bohanon - Football Recruiting
Scout.com: Tommy Bohanon Profile
Fullback
North Fort Myers (FL) North Fort Myers
Ht: 6-foot-2
Wt: 238 lbs
Forty: 4.7 secs
Bench max: 375 pounds
Squat max: 480 pounds
Class: 2009 (High School)
No picture, but we're in his top 3 apparently. We're short on schollies, so it's hard to believe we'd be recruiting someone as just a fullback. But watch his film on rivals, awesome stuff.

No he isn't Jehuu part 2. Jehuu was a big back not a fullback.
Caper is Jehuu part 2 but I think he will be better and get more carries.
Bohanon is just an athletic FB that is a load to get down.

Naturally I have to ask....who are the two other schools we have to beat for his services?

Personally I would like to get a true blocking/running fullback. I think it would do wonders for Caper/Baker, and it would add another dimension to our offense.

since when is caper 6'2" 240lb?
Jehuu was TJ Duckett part 2, but with a little less versatility and speed

I didn't say they had the same measureables. We aren't taking this guy for a big back situation if we even get him which will be decided in the next few weeks.
Caulcrick was a bigger back not a fullback. We aren't going to have this guy splitting the carries with Baker, that is going to be Caper.
If you watch Caper he plays like a bigger back but with more speed. He plows guys over and can run up the middle.
Measureables this guy is closer to Jehuu, but as far as the way we utilize him he isn't going to get the carries Jehuu did nor will he be used like Jehuu did.
As for who we are in there with it is Wake Forest and Louisville.
I think it will be Wake Forest in the end but we will see.

A lot of people were recruiting Jehuu as a fullback. MSU included. He WAS the #5 FB in the nation as a recruit. If you remember, they moved Jehuu to linebacker because they weren't sure of his future as a running back without the FB position available. There are worse things to be compared to. Jehuu became a RB more out of need.
Bohanon is a big boy. Definitely not as fast as Jehuu, but he'd have to bulk up a little to have the same type of frame. In any event, I'm happy to be able to recruit this position again. I love me some fullbacks. I have no problem with Bohanon.

My bad then. I wasn't following recruiting when we got Jehuu so I didn't know that. I just was saying he wasn't going to be our secondary back, which is what Jehuu was.
Bohanon looks sick but if we really only have 16-17 scholarships to give out, I am curious to see what original scholarship we don't use on if we pick up a verbal commitment from him.
Maybe we don't take a Tight End.
We will find out in a few weeks and I would love him in the class. He certainly has great film and the school he attends is pretty damn good so he isn't playing in terrible competition.

I honestly think the Jehuu effect is way overrated. We have good enough coaching, skill players, and linemen to not need a one man wrecking machine. That said, we can basically get a commit out of this kid by showing a Jehuu highlight tape as he's in the same mold. I would have liked to see more sets with Jehuu and Javon both on the field, but MD knows what he's doing.

This kid is very, very physical....He would look good as a lead blocker, smashing that weak 3-3-5 down the road.

That is what I was kind of getting at.
When Caper came up and gave his commitment to us Enos was showing him a few potential plays they have drawn up already so they can get Caper and Baker on the field at the same time.

Nobody on the defense wants to tackle him.

He does remind me a lot of Jehuu. Big kid who seems to love contact and running over people

Seriously? They are our fricking rivals and you don't know what D they are running? They are running a 4-3, and a rather conservative one at that, based on what RR has said and what their DC has done in the past. Say "He is very physical, and will smash Kenny Demens' 'I would rather play pass coverage' face in."
