Package deal with Hammock? Have they mentioned anything about playing together? They came to camp together.

I think it proves Dantonio wants one more DB in this class but only a pure CB, no more Safeties !

I can guarantee you he wants another cover corner in this class. I would like Barnett.

I don't have Scout but the article seemed to suggest that this is offer he has been waiting for.

I think we get him.

That would be great. He seems legit, and if it helps us with Hammock.....Outstanding.

Barnett is exactly the type of corner I want to see more of at MSU. I think we are seeing a few more now that Dantonio is heading the ship. If I could pick one thing that I want to see greatly improve under MD, it is our corner play. Barnett would be a perfect fit in my opinion with his decent size and great speed. He'd have an opportunity to play early as well.

Is it just a coincidence that he has the same last name as Harlon Barnett?

Is it me, or has our corner play SERIOUSLY taken a downward spiral since MD left the staff? I can't remember a pair of competent corners since that 99 season....

MD's going to bring us back to having guys that don't give up the big pass play after play after play. We were slightly improved there last year, and I think we'll take another, bigger step this year. The man REALLY knows how to coach up corners.

Its not just you. The DB since MD left was progressively getting worst. In the short time he's been back you can aleady see the improvement.

Guys like Barnett will be killer CB's under MD and Co.

Sounds like we are in good position with him based on on the scout article that 49ers is reffering to. I hope its right.

Like OL, you can never have enough corners, esp. cover corners.

49ers is correct...we are in good shape with Barnett, and with Hammock. The premium discussion on Scout that 49ers was referring to was very positive regarding those two (especially Barnett).

I do have access to Rivals and there was premium message board content in regards to Barnett after he camped up here. Very positive for MSU for Barnett.

I felt confident summarizing the post on Scout with that information.

spots are filling up...kids need to start jumping on the ship or risking us not having space (wow, can't believe I am saying that in July)

Go to about the 302 mark of his newest video. He makes a great play...but then watch the WR on the other team just get destroyed by two of Barnett's teammates.

This is just like what happened with that FB from Florida. He was a bit too good to not offer a scholarship, but since he's not coming, I doubt we take another DB.

Just my

Like MSU, Indiana is still trying to turn the corner with football, if they cannot do it with in-state kids, they would have a hard time succeeding. They also have ND and Purdue to contend with in Indiana.

For all they said about playing together, I'd say he's 99% IU bound.
