'10 MI RB Austin White (MSU Offer)

I would love Austin to come here but we thought Ingram was a lock. Now he is in SEC, watched by 80%+ of college football audience last Sat and Freshman player of the week.

We will recruit Austin hard but never consider him a lock

Hey I finally got the confirmation email saying that i could post on this blog but Ive read this forum for a couple of months. I personally know austin.... I graduated with his older twin brothers and have known the family since fourth grade. The people who say that austin is going to MSU or no-where in the big ten are just stupid. I recentlly talked to austin personally about where his thinking about playing and he seems to like Michigan or UCLA at the moment. If you have a rivals account membership you can see that he has been getting alot of attention from the Wolverines so at this point he is definitely not an MSU lock whatsoever.

UCLA is an interesting option. I dont know whats going on over there so i have no comment on that. The thing with michigan is they sign 4 or 5 running backs in high school every year projected to be a RB in college and turn some of them in DB's, some of them into WR and the rest of the RB are WR half the time anyways. I see Austin as more of a powerful RB than a guy who is going to blow you away with his speed. That is why i think he fits MSU style of play than michigan. michigan has powerful RB from Llllloyd's days and RR barely plays them. Brown and Grady are complaining about playing time while Sam and Shaw who run sub 4.5's get all the playing time. they fit his scheme more even back to WV he used smaller quicker backs

I may be wrong but I think Spartan Mag actually says he could be a rb or slot receiver in college.

Look I don't think Austin is a Spartan lock by any means nor should anyone think that.

I think he likes a lot of schools and likes a wide open offense.

But if I was Dantonio or a Spartan fan close to Austin, I would get a copy of the USC/OSU game and circle Joe McKnight.

Austin reminds me a lot of him. Not a true burner but more of a glider if that makes any sense. Is great in space and is just so smooth.

McKnight would be very good in the spread, however he is also very good in the pro style offense. Certainly they are creative and I would have to imagine we would as well if Austin came here.

There is a long ways to go and maybe he will go to U of M but I would be a little surprised.

Scout has him either as a RB or LB. My point is Coach D will be recruiting him to play RB without a doubt. I dont know what RR would recruit him for and looking at his track record it could be anything

That's the thing. Anyone can claim to know him. Anyone can claim that they have some kind of inside info. Personally, I don't believe anything that I don't see in print or hear out of a kid's mouth...or from someone that is trusted and respected. Anything else is just irresponsible.

If Austin decides that he doesn't want to come to MSU, oh well. I just hope that he doesn't go to UofM. For his and our sake.
