I like the fact that Dantonio recruits versatile and intelligent players. I hope this offer has no relationship to Jenrette leaving the team.

Looking back through older articles, he was listing an offer from MSU months ago.

I think it is between us and Nebraska.

LSU has quite a few safeties higher on their board.

Would love to get him as he is a big time need with the safety issues.

I believe I read his father was an ex-Detroit Lion. James Jones? I believe.

Rumors are that we need another true solid safety in this class. This kid looks awesome and would fit the bill. Him and Trawick as safeties... (purely based on measurements at this point). I expect him to have the skills if we are pushing for him.

How many times have we had a taller receiver from Michigan jump over our midget DB's for a TD? We need DB's this size!

I think Jones is pretty much off LSU's radar and also he has no Offer from them. LSU has Offers out to two 4* Safeties, two 3* Safeties, and one JUCO Safety; plus they have a 3* Safety and a 2* Safety waiting in the wings for Offers, both of whom go to HS in Baton Rouge ! MSU is looking to recruit a S because it now appears that Roderick Jenrette will not ever re-join the team. If Gordon chooses UM, then MSU will probably put the full court press on Jones. Dana Dixon will be coming in as a FS, so the real need is now for a SS, especially with Otis Wiley graduating. Another name that might come up as a safety possibility is Delano Collins, Dixon's and Chris Norman's teammate @ Detroit Renaissance. I also think that Coach Dantonio would like to add a true cover CB to this class.

New article from HuskersIllustrated.com

Quote:
"I don't really have any visits set yet," Jones said. "I was going to visit Michigan State on October 17, but that one isn't set in stone yet. I want to take most of my visits during the season but I don't want to miss much practice or time with my team - so I'm not sure how that will turn out."

Not liking being behind Nebraska as they have done quite well in Florida this year. Not concerned about LSU because according to some he doesn't have a commitable LSU offer they are running well with Craig Loston.

However I am curious to see if his visit gets set in stone after tomorrow. I would have to imagine the staff probably liking Gordon better and feeling good about him.

Now if he is off the board I would have to think Jones is made a plan A.

good points. Recruits certainly put the schools that have them as Plan A ranked higher. We have no idea what MSU has told Jones.

I find it interesting that his official visit was setup, but now he says he isnt sure if it is going to happen. Does our staff feel good on T. Gordon's announcement this Fri?

tea leaves.....

I would have to assume that he is out of the picture now that Allen committed. It just doesn't seem like there would be room for him now.

New article on Rivals.

Is coming up to the game next weekend with his mom.

MSU right behind LSU for his services.

BTW, no mention of Florida.
