Great thread from Bukibill
For those of you who aren't familiar with him, Bukibill is the Insider's Insider in Columbus. Guy knows everything that happens down there. He mentions that Duane Long ranks him as the top junior in Ohio. In his most recent update, he says that MSU has been in contact.
Offer from Illinois, not sure who else. Would be one hell of a compliment to Gholston as the other DE in this class and adding the two of them would certainly make up for not taking any DEs this year.

I've read that OSU insiders feel this is the player they offer next. This would be a great get for MSU, but it looks like a long way to go. We have PT available at this position, which will be a good draw MSU. I think we may take 3 DE's in this class.

i dont see OSU getting both him and Gholston. they already have a couple big DE commits and working on another for 09

I don't think they get Gholston either. Read some articles on Bryant as he mentions that OSU is his favorite team growing up, but this doesn't mean that he won''t end up at MSU. It's too early to tell.
I believe that the player you are referring to for their '09 class is a DT from Arizona, Corey Adams. Ohio is loaded '10 with DE talent and Michigan has at least 2 good prospects, of course one being Gholston. I hope we land both of these guys as well as another great DE prospect for the 2010 class.

At work right now and can't view it here, so I'll reserve comment until tonight.

Thanks (although I don't see the resemblance). Now we can get back to Derrick Bryant.

OSU's already got J.T. Moore committed and Darryl Baldwin on the way (expect that one to drop within a month). Their 2010 class won't be big because of the sheer enormousness of their 2009 class, and they've got two stud DEs from the class of 2009 already on board. With four stud DTs in their last two classes and their limited space, it's highly unlikely they offer another DT, so Gholston and Bryant should be there for the taking....

Well, i'm 90% sure that picture was taken in Michigan Stadium, so we know another team in the mix.

I find it odd that he visits UM and doesnt hear from them for almost 2 months but an offer letter just arrives in his mailbox. I dont recruit players, but that just seems like an offer mass mailing.
That being said, hope MSU evaluates this kid soon.

Attending OSU's spring game per Kurelic.
I'm resigned to the fact that we're not going to get him, so we might as well root for OSU, which a)keeps him out of AA, and b)causes OSU to not offer another DE that we target down the line.

Well if OSU gets Bryant, we can go after Daryl Baldwin. They aren't going to get them both, and OSU is going to get Baldwin, so quit worrying about Bryant. He probablyisn't going to OSU.

This is going to be a UM vs. OSU battle. Grew up liking UM has already been to some games and got the offer. OSU though will not let a kid leave that close without a fight. UM got 2 very good DE's this class and are still after montgomery. I think if they get montgomery they don't get bryant
