What is bieng overshadowed by his offensive production is what a great defensive player he is. MSU would be very lucky to get him and add him to their defensive backfield.

From Rivals:

Another game, another win, and another stellar performance rushing for RB Chris Robinson of Ovid-Elsie. Rushing for over 200 yards, Robinson led the Marauders to a 40-20 victory over conference foe Alma on Friday night. Look inside for an exclusive Friday Night Lights feature.

He stated in a Rivals article that he is a huge U-M fan, and that the Central win put a smile on his face, but he can't be overly excited because we 'may' offer.

I am paraphrasing here, but next in line, please.

Yeah, sounds like Mike Heart's long lost little brother.

I have to imagine we have numerous players on our roster who grew up rooting for U-M. It's silly to think this is a dealbreaker. In fact, the suggestion that he took pause in celebrating the CMU victory shows that he's level-headed enough to realize that MSU would be a good offer if it came along.
If MD offers and he takes it, he'll be just another Spartan.

It's one thing to root for Michigan, its another thing to enjoy it when State does poorly. If a major university is planning on offering you a full ride and you are considering it, you should show some respect.

That's why his 'I kinda felt this way, but then felt bad about it' was a pretty honest and fair answer. And I'll take my Devin Thomas' and other former Michigan fans. If you've got game, you've got game.

What is the reason he hasn't got D1 offers?

I heard that too. I also heard that he is a huge Michigan fan and his goal is to get an offer from them.

Not sure if I'm allowed to say, but I have info. I believe he's upper MAC talent (I don't mean that in a negative way, just sayin). The position that would intrigue me is OLB. If he was recruited for this position, I'd be interested. Had some issues with attitude last year with bball coach. Benched at times even though was best player. Could he play BT fball, quite possibly but I bet he goes MAC.

College football has proved one thing, if you have the talent the off the field issues can go away quick (L. Anderson). For him not to have any offers either speaks of the level of his grades or his ability. I can't say either way, but I doubt it is his attitude, just my opinion though, no inside info.

I'm sure if he'd had the talent at least Coach English at EMU would take a shot at him, if he loves UofM the he's probably familiar with Coach English.

223 yards and three touchdowns for Chris this week! If he rushes (when he rushes) for over 100 yards against an 0-8 Perry team at Ovid-Elsie for their homecoming, he will tie the state record with 24 consecutive 100 yard rushing games! No matter where this kid goes to college, it's great to see what one person can mean to a very small community!

O-E played my old HS, Shepherd, Friday... safe to say he made our defense look awful. He ran through and around everyone.

In Chris's last regular season game, he finished with 230 yards on 18 carries. He tied Kevin Grady Jr's (East Grand Rapids) state record of 24 consecutive 100 yard rushing games. He finished the regular season with 2115 yards. Now it's time to see what he can do in the playoffs! No matter where he ends up going to college, it has been fun watching him play for Ovid-Elsie. He's a great kid with great character.

On a side note, he was voted homecoming king. When it was announced, he grabbed the microphone and then gave the crown to another person. I've heard that he may be struggling with being eligible for college athletics, but it's just so great to see a person bring so much life and happiness to a small farming community.

Hopefully he gave the crown to a nice young lady!

Seriously though, sounds like a good kid, hope he gets his act together regarding eligibility.

Maybe this is why he doesn't have any major offers?

You either made that up or are passing along garbage. I can tell you for a fact that isn't true. Your info is bull**** if you ever had any.

Article on him in the Lansing State Journal today. Sounds like an absolutely great young man. Definitely didn't sound like he is a problem at all, in fact, he sounds more like the model student, athlete, young man.

I know this kid personally, and I can tell you that the ONLY knock on him right now is his test scores. He IS a model student, athlete, and young man.... he just doesn't test well. He just took the ACT's again last weekend so we will see how that goes. I coach my son's youth football team, and Chris would stop by our practices to help out with drills or just offer encouragement to the young kids... and this was after going through a full day of school and practice himself.... Great kid..

How can he be a "model student" and have poor test scores?

Some people are really bad at tests. They get very nervous when taking them. It happens.
