Bryant is pretty much all OSU right now. If OSU receives verbals from Joyner, Shaw and any other they won't have room for Bryant. This isn't likely to happen, but it could. If this does play out then MSU and Tenn. are the likely leaders to get him.
Anderson has claimed WVU his leader since mid June, before this MSU led. If for any reason WVU loses some of their lead for him expect MSU to take the top spot. There are many factors that could lead to this, but MSU still has a great chance. All it takes is one great visit to get Anderson. Also, he could and likely would get immediate PT at MSU. Let's hope Latwan somehow lands at MSU. He's a great player and is worthy of his 5 star ranking.
Mathis has changed his favorites numerous times and there is no point in trying to determine where he's leaning given his comments. IMO, he is definitely a UM lean, which is great for MSU. In this recruitment we currently only have to beat out Oregon to get a commitment. If he chooses to stay close to home and play in front of his family and friends MSU is the likely destination. Sam Webb stated earlier this week that he thinks Mathis won't be coming to UM because UM will have all of their CB's by the time he decides (at the AA game). As I stated before, UM will likely get Cullen Christian and another CB before Mathis commits. UM is keeping in contact if they miss on another prospect that they would prefer at CB, though if Mathis wants to play slot WR then UM will again likely get him. If UM has room I'd expect Mathis to be all UM, but it's unlikely they'll have the room, though things can change. MSU is still involved in his recruitment and in a good position.

Thanks for the info!

Correct me if I am wrong, but the Spartan's haven't signed a Cass Tech kid since Roderick Maples (part of the 2000 class). This despite the fact that Cass Tech has put dozens of players in Division I programs since then.
Forgive my cynicism but I will believe Mathis (or any other Cass Tech kid) to MSU when I see a signed letter of intent.

I missed Maples... Who are these dozens of players from Cass Tech? Cass Tech hasn't produced that many DI recruits going back 30 years!

Michigan has zero secondary depth, and with losing Witty I imagine they'll take a lot of guys.
Still skeptical..this guy has changed his leaders about 5 times already.

christian and his teammate are the highest priority for michigan i believe. they also need another at least 1 more offensive lineman for this class. if i remember correctly there is another DB from florida that they want and then Knight is still a possibility. however you guys only have 7 more scholarships if it is a full class and lord knows you have offers out to a lot of people. if Dior does want to commit to michigan its going to have to be in February

Blowing off your scheduled visit to EL so that you can hit AA for the umpteenth time won't exactly make happy.

Yes, Christian looks like a lean and they are after his teammate Ifill but last I heard UM was in second. UM appears to be after Grimes heavy (he is the FLA guy) and seems to be in good position. But if they don't get Ifill (who they are recruiting as a safety), I could see them taking up to 3 with Christian, Grimes and Mathis. I certainly think he is scholarship-worthy.

I really hope Dior is not in the mode of cissoko. He got tourched several times yesterday and when he actually made a play, or excuse me, the wr dropped it, he paraded like he was awesome. made me sick to watch him.

I hear ya GBFO....Cissoko was BRUTAL and acted like he was the 2nd coming of Woodson ...if Mathis is of the same mold....you can have him.

Yes, he was pretty brutal but you want your CBs to be cocky and confident. The alternative is to play off 10 yards and that's brutal as well. He definitely needs some coaching but in the end, IMO he will at least be decent.

IT had nothing to do with how he covered or his style, but how he reacted after every play. One play burned for long gain, then burned for medium game, then a bad throw the wr couldn't get and he did that little arm cross thing like look at me...it was pathetic and had nothing to do with being confident but being cocky.

How you play and how you act are not related AT ALL.

Most UM slappies (at least when they were not recruiting Mathis....) said BooBoo was a bit bigger and lot tougher than Mathis. Ok, whatever.
If we lose to UM, you can forget getting Mathis. IMHO

I think this UM game is the biggest I have ever seen in my life. We were miles ahead of them it seems and in two short weeks the gap has closed. As far as a recruiting stand point (and a Big Ten standpoint) I don't remember a game ever as big as this.

Just read on SpartanMag that Miami may be in the mix for Mathis now. No offer yet but Mathis likes them.

Went to the game today but did not see Dior do much, I don't think SE threw it his way once. Final score was 35-0 SE, Cass Tech could not move the ball on there defense at all. Gholston is a freak athletically, and dominant when he wants to be, but he is lazy. When he is pass rushing he runs right through people and they don't really slow him down, but he takes alot of plays off especially on run plays. He often jogs after the ball and this caused him to get lit up by the Cass Tech fullback on one of the plays. He never seemed to try his hardest and looked bored. It comes to no surprise that we did not offer his teammate Jon Hankins. The kid is huge but as soon as the ball is snapped he just stands straight up. Easterly, a Cass Tech linebacker and former recruit did nothing at all. He is a stud at summer camps, but once the pads go on it just doesn't click for him. One thing I found a little surprising was when SE onside kicked with up 26-0 in the 4th. In retaliation, Cass Techs defense knocked over all the lineman before the snap and took a cheap shot on SE qb. This caused one kid to get tossed from the game. This puts Detroit SE at 5-0 on the year and I think they should be able to make some noise in the playoffs this year, but Cass Tech has to win out to even make it.

Today's game, hurting or helping in the recruitment of Mathis?
- Dior, look how badly we need you, we're dying for you to come and help out this secondary.
Or -
- MSU, you suck, I'm going to UM because that's what Cass Tech guys do.
I'm thinking if we lose to UM, we can say goodbye to Mr. Mathis.
