I hope you're right because he would be an outstanding addition to this team.

With a commitment from this guy, are we looking at another top 15 recruiting class according to rivals? We know we'll never do any better than 30 according to scout even if we snagged all 5 star guys.

Can someone who has seen both Hicks & Mathis play give a quick breakdown of the stregnths that each would bring to the table.
Looks like their 40 times are pretty close. Hicks is taller & heavier than Mathis. Would we see these two potentially playing side by side as CB's here,or could Hicks project to Safety ?

just from what i have seen on tape and heard from the camps is that hicks has shown much better overall after mathis was thought to have been the better prospect early on...hicks is a corner no doubt and trust me we want mathis very bad as well...

Think:
Mathis = Johnny Adams
Hicks = Rucker
Not saying either of them have more or less talent, etc, but in terms of what they bring to the table and the type of players they are.

They are both lockdown corners. Hicks is bigger, but Mathis is also talented enough to be a star.

Some big info. from a very good source:
Dior is visiting the state of Florida this weekend with his mom. The U and Univ. of Florida, to be exact.
If he isn't blown away by either, he will be a Spartan. He will be making his decision in the next couple of weeks and inform the coaches but won't be announcing it until the All-American game.

Interesting as all the Glenville guys do this too. We may get 2 or 3 commits and not know it until Jan. Weird

It's a way to secure their spot but still get a lot of attention during a high-profile event.

This is great news for MSU. Both Fla. and Miami have a lot of talent and depth at CB, where MSU is in great need of some quality CB's. Florida has 3/4 CB's already in this class and Miami actually has 3. Michigan is concentrating on other CB's and Oregon is the only really strong competition that offers the PT that MSU has available. Hopefully he chooses MSU, I think he would get early PT and would be able to add great speed to our defense.

Have they already named certain guys to the AA game teams, or are these guys just assuming they are going to make the teams?

Don't forget, Mathis would put another foot in the door at Cass Tech, and help reinforce the staffs relationship with the school and Wilcher.

Who was the first foot in the door?
