From ESPN:
Georgia star visits Michigan State
While Smith headed south for an official visit, ESPNU 150 running back Storm Johnson (Loganville, Ga.) headed north for a visit to Big Ten country. Johnson was in East Lansing over the weekend making an official visit to Michigan State.
"It went great," Johnson said. "I liked it. I liked the [Michigan State-Michigan] game. Michigan State had the will not to give up. They had their ups and downs, but they still came through."
Johnson was also impressed with Spartan coach Mark Dantonio and his staff.
"I talked with Coach Dantonio," Johnson said. "He asked me how I liked the game and everything. I liked how all the coaches treated me."
The trip to East Lansing was Johnson's first official visit, so it was not surprising that he did not make a commitment to the Spartans.
"I'm going to take at least two or three more visits," Johnson said. "Miami, Alabama, North Carolina, Kentucky and Tennessee are still in there. And Penn State a little. Everybody is still pretty equal. I don't have a favorite."
The 5-foot-11 and 210-pound Johnson is the No. 38 prospect on the ESPNU 150 and the No. 6 running back.

Absent setting him up with a hooker I'm not sure what more we could have done to impress him...

I have no inside info on this one, but I'm going out on a limb and predicting he chooses the Spartans. This would be a stellar pickup, I don't care what the naysayers have to say. Boy am I pullin for it!

Let's hope everyone else "craps the bed" when Johnson makes his official visits.

I hope it plays out like you suggest. MSU is in a really good shape with Johnson. The only team out of his favorites that could be concerning for MSU is UNC. They are loaded at RB with many So. and Fr. RB's, and they also have a RB committed to this class. MSU's depth chart actually should be more appealing from a PT perspective. UNC may also not have many scholarships left, but I am unsure of how many players they will take this year. But will MSU be able to get him out of the South? Out of the schools that he is still considering, Miami seems focused on in-state RB's, Bama has many other options that seem to be a higher priority for them, he's visited Kentucky already and wasn't very impressed, Tenn. hasn't offered yet according to rivals and PSU is likely focusing solely on Lattimore. If MSU can edge UNC and no other teams get involved he may be playing for MSU.

The latest article about Storm Johnson highlights his trip to MSU. He states that MSU would fit him perfectly and that he met the coaches, AD and academic advisors. The only negative was the weather, but he said he could get used to it. The staff told him they think he could contribute immediately at MSU. He said he will likey take 2-4 more visits to UNC, N.C. State, Miami and maybe back to UK. He visited UK unofficially in Sept. and described the trip as "okay". UNC and N.C. State would be the two teams that will likely be the toughest competition for Johnson. Miami may have a silent commitment from a top 10 RB and may be done at RB. Johnson will enroll early to the school that he chooses, hopefully he will make his choice while MSU still has room. MSU will likely continue to make Johnson a priority and we have a great chance to get a commitment from him.

If Storm thought it was cold last weekend, he'd be in for a big surprise walking to class in February.

Yeah, he said it was like 40 degrees and raining: 1st of all it was in the 50s and 2nd of all that is nothing anyways.

Come on down, Mr. Johnson. Did you see the stable of RBs that got hurt today?

psst...Storm. Don't forget, these schools are primarily BASKETBALL schools. Also, if you're concerned about the cold temps in the winter, MSU has PLENTY of beautiful to warm you up!

Did they pull their first offer and are now going to offer again? Not sure where this originated but Florida isn't likely going to be a factor according to some Fla. fans. They think that Jakari Gore is close to committing to them as a RB/KR. Most of their fans are claiming that they may not have room for another RB right now. I guess we'll have to see how tis plays out. As of now, I would say that UNC and N.C. State are the toughest competition for MSU.

Just repeating what I've seen on another board. Whether it happens or not is anybody's guess.
