I think the players in bold would make a fine start to the 2011 class.

Bryan Bell a OT listed out of Walled Lake Northern... is actually out of Walled Lake Central. He also went to my High School and that I graduated from last year; however my brother a Sophomore made the varsity this year. So, I will try to give this board updates as I get them. According to my brother his favorite team was Michigan growing up; but our head coach is a big Michigan State fan and knows a couple of coaches at the school personally. So, its looking good.
For those wondering about him, I didn't really watch our team closely last year, as well to put it lightly they stunk. And the one time I watched them I paid more attention to the opposition. But from what my brother says he is a tremendous weight room worker. Which is always good in my opinion.

And if he can bring himself to approve of what's happening, he becomes "groovy." And after that, with much luck and perseverence, he can rise to the rank of "cool."

those are probably going to be your 75-78 players on their scale. so a potential top 250 guy if using the rivals. i will be curious to see if your coach uses the blanket recruiting style again this year

It means the player is still being graded. Could end up being on the watch list after they are done.

I talked to him yesterday, he did say he was a Michigan fan, but he hasn't heard from them. Was at MSU for the spring game and will be there for a game later this year.

i see scout has given out the 4 stars for the 2011 top 100. i believe these are the guys that will be under consideration for the earliest edition of the Scout 100. DeAnthony Arnett, Lawrence Thomas, Doran Grant, Steve Miller are on the list with MSU offers. Braxton Miller and DaVaris Daniels made the list with interest coming from MSU

I believe the state is split up into areas given to different coaches. Tony Dews and Fred Jackson have the east side of the state.

My parents still go to highschool games in my hometown (Northville). My dad was telling me the other day, that Northville has a junior quarterback this year, who is listed at 6'5" and 200 lbs and that this kid is on another level from the other kids he plays with. He also saw Tony Jones play when they played Grand Blanc a few weeks back and was impressed by him, but said our QB was the best player on the field (apparently he can run too).
Keeps telling me about this 50 yard bomb of a touchdown he threw the other week as being the prettiest throw he's ever seen on any level (not saying much though, cause he mainly watches the lions).
Anyway, his older brother plays tight end for Tenn. so the potential might be there. I'm not proclaiming this kid D1 material by any means, but I'm hoping to catch a game in a few weeks if I make it home. I'll let everyone know what I see with my expert eye

Yeah, Ashton Gaines. He's a great player. He visited MSU a couple weeks back. The only real question on him is speed. He gets open, has great hands and football instincts. He's getting a lot of looks and obviously, MSU is in the mix with him.
