Might Lewis be the 'better' player, sure. But he isn't being evaluated by big time coaches as a can't live without player. Can't live without players have offers from top 10 programs - Lewis and Mumphery don't. That tells me that Dantonio liked Mumphery's flexibility of position and willingness to end things early enough to take Mumphery and pass on Lewis, even though he liked him enough to offer him. That makes sense to me.

If it weren't for the 4 star ranking, would any of you be getting bent out of shape about a player whose final group was Cinci, Kentucky, and Purdue? I doubt it. He's a good player, and if room was not an issue, we'd love to have him - that's inarguable. But is he a Prater or Phillips recruit, I don't think so.

Whether on purpose or not, this only adds to the greatness of this quote. Well done.

Per ESPN

Wide receiver Dyjuan Lewis (Indianapolis, Ind./Pike) has 15 scholarship offers including Purdue, Indiana, Iowa, Cincinnati, Michigan State, Kentucky, Minnesota, Louisville and Missouri.

However, Lewis has trimmed his list to a select few.

"I've narrowed it down to three," he said. "It's down to Cincinnati, Kentucky and Purdue."

Seems like a great prospect to have such so-so offers. I bet Kelly gets one.

Doubt he'll be there by the time he's a freshman.
