Skyler was at the game yesterday. Loved it and wants to visit again. Sat in the student section with Gholston. Will probably commit to us if tOSU doesn't offer.
Any idea how long he's willing to wait for OSU? Andrew Donnal and Michael Dennis were both in the same boat and they both obviously told OSU to take a hike long ago. Hope Skyler doesn't wait too long....

tOSU is waiting on some OL to decide. If they get the plan A guys, they won't give Skyler an offer and he'll commit to us soon after. If they miss out on the plan A guys, Skyler is near the top of their list for plan B offers and would probably end up in Columbus.
He's going to be at tOSU this weekend, and plans on making another visit to MSU during the college season.
Huge to get him on campus. He had not visited before. I hope he doesnt plan on waiting for tOSU.
The OSU staff has been "slow playing" Skyler right along. They are now concentrating their OL recruiting efforts on Seantrelle Henderson and Matt James. If they don't get either one of those players, then they will offer Shofner as a "plan B", figuring he would be a "lock" for them. Hopefully, Skyler will see through OSU's ploy and realize that MSU really wants him and is the best "fit" for him.

Yeah, I'm fully aware of this. Thing is, they're not going to take more than 3 OL, maybe even 2 depending on how the rest of the class fills in. In addition to James & Henderson as CBD listed above, they've got Florida natives Brandon Linder and Chaz Green both coming for officials too. And none of these guys are likely to announce anything before January, so therein lies the question: is Skylar going to wait that long or decide before then? OSU's very confident that they'll get two of these four, but I'm sure they'd love Skylar to wait for them just in case, if he's willing. Any clue on his timetable would reveal a ton.

Shofner has stated in the past that he wants to take some official visits before he makes a decision. He has set no timetable to what schools or when he will take official visits.
The Michigan State staff has been hoping to get offensive tackle Skyler Schofner on campus for a long time. This past weekend the 6-foot-7, 295-pound prospect made the trip to East Lansing for an unofficial visit and came away impressed with what he saw of the Spartan program. Find out the details.

The square is seldom if ever cool ... He is "not with it", that is, he doesn't know "whats happening." But if he manages to figure it out, he moves up a notch to "hip." And if he can bring himself to approve of what's happening, he becomes "groovy." And after that, with much luck and perseverence, he can rise to the rank of "cool."
When he was with Gholston in the student section it looked like they were haveing a pretty good time. They were doing all of the chants, or trying.

For the first time in my life, as a Spartan, I am 100% certain the next three years will be better then the past three.

One of the top offensive line prospects on Kentucky's football recruiting board for 2010 was on hand Saturday for the Wildcats' game against top-ranked Florida. And while the script did not unfold like the home team had hoped, Skyler Schofner says he enjoyed his time in Lexington.
Better start winning some games, or we're going to lose our status as the backup plan to OSU.

Don't like to bump, but he deserves to be on the front page

Tom Izzo can do or say anything he wants. He has earned that right. I will support anything he does. I would run over a box of kittens and puppies for that man. It is going to be a sad, horrific day the moment he steps down. I wish people would just STFU and enjoy his coaching and contribution to MSU while he is still here.

we need OSU to pick up verbals from James and Henderson. if that happens than i believe Schofner will pick MSU on signing day
that would be a doubled edged sword...we get better, but then thier Oline would be A-effing-MAZING and would ruin the point of us getting better...Winning the big ten

Um pretty sure OSU usually has an awesome O Line recruiting class...so it's not a double edge sword...I'll take OSU's leftovers any day.

OSU will definitely not get both James and Henderson. Also, they may not get either one of them since both have offers from all the big time programs in the USA.
James has narrowed his choices down to three; OSU, ND, & Cinci. I think it's about 50/50 between OSU and ND right now. He probably won't make a decision until close to signing day.
Henderson's current favorites are FL, MN, ND, OK, OSU, & USC. He will probably announce his decision at the Army All American game in Jan. Right now I would put my money on USC.
If Shofner gets tired of waiting for an OSU offer, which may never come, then I think he will choose MSU.

thats another big question is how long will he wait. for the looks of it Henderson will wait until signing day. not sure on James. im pretty sure Schofner will wait until after the bowl games but i think he will announce before signing day. the other question is how long will OSU try and hold out for Henderson.
Anytime you have a shot at a really good talent you take him Schof is the top target still left on Michigan States board and While i like guys other guys we're after I'll take him even if it means Ohio State gets who they want and we get left overs.
Judging from how OSU's offensive line has looked all this great talent they have accumulated the last couple recruiting classes maybe they shouldn't go after the quote "5 star" talents and take someone like Schofner who's upside is limitless.
