Just watched his highlight vid.... this kid could be a very good OT. He's big, very athletic, good motor, and mean. That's everything you want in an offensive tackle. He needs to work on technique, pad level, weight and strength, but he has major potential.

2010 Michael Dennis Carey TEDE89 Jr

Michael could be the real "Sleeper" in MSU's 2010 class. He is an athletic big man who "blew up" @ OSU's summer camps. Played TE in his HS' wish-bone offense (basically a 3rd tackle) his Jr. season. He played some OT for his Sr. season to begin learning the techniques of his projected college position. He appears to have the quick feet and athleticism to play left OT in college. He has the frame to get much bigger and stronger. Mannie will get him up to 320 lbs. with a wing-span like a 747. This young man has great potential. He will be red-shirted.

Exactly, and his listed height of 6'7" doesn't look like much of an exaggeration.

He looks thin as of now, a year in a college weight program should do wonders.

He put up 41pts and 12rebs in his basketball game recently! that is nuts for a guy who should be playing tackle...hopefully he adds weight to that athletic frame

Apparently he's also his high school's all-time leading basketball scorer. Not bad for a lineman.

And he had what, half a dozen BCS offers, and Rivals gives him TWO STARS?!

As you know, the reason stars and class rankings don't mean a whole lot. Blair White & KMart are prime examples of recruiting service excellence.

If Coach D can build a dominating OL, that is key to success. This kid looks VERY promising. Love the athletic ability. Need that with faster D lineman.
