South Carolina. Already visited Pitt, Wisconsin and WVU. Sounds like he may be an MSU lean after his visit.

MSU is in a very good position with Cadogen. He's one of the players in this class that I hope commits to MSU. He seems like a great prospect that can contribute at DE, OLB and TE. He'll likely play defense if he comes to MSU but he has the talent to be a difference maker for our defense.

he has the talent to play both ways after a couple years in the system. the coaching staff is continuing to recruit players that can play multiple positions and play them well. he would be a great addition to an already solid class

In the latest update from Scout Cadogen says he favors the big ten conference. That would leave MSU and Wisc. to be the two teams that supposedly lead. After his visit at MSU he stated that he wanted to visit again. There is more playing time available at MSU, but Wisc. has a hs teammate of his committed to this class. Cadogen seems to be a great athlete, would fill a position of need and would be a great get for MSU.

Not sure I can agree with you about being stacked at DE. He can play DE, OLB or TE but he probably projects best to defense. While the numbers suggest MSU has great depth, we need talent. Outside of Gholston we don't have too much right now. Hoover has played well, but not great, he could still be a good player. Williams likely won't get much PT as of now. Strayhorn has one more year left I believe. Freeman, Drone and Calero are question marks but could be good players. Rush seems to be a good prospect that may be able to get some early PT.

My point is that, IMO, a huge reason MSU hasn't been real good in pass defense is because there is no pressure on the QB's. They have all day to throw and no DB can cover a WR for that long. Regardless of numbers and the talent that MSU may or could have with incoming players or players that are currently on the team, I think we all would agree that another very good pass rusher would be a welcomed addition. Cadogen could also play LB or TE, but he has great speed and seems to be a good pass rusher. There is a reason why the staff has made him a priority.

Strayhorn was the diamond in the rough. Walk-on turned bull rusher. He's a true sophomore right now. Rolf is also a true sophomore, a solid rush end.

Marcus Rush will be All-American Name team for the next 4 years.

I forgot to mention Rolf. He's a situational pass rusher that does a good job. The point I was trying to make is that MSU needs players that do more than an adequate job rushing the QB every 8-10 plays. They need playmakers that are going to pressure the QB often. Many people are complaing about Narduzzi's schemes. The schemes aren't the problem at all, they aren't executed well, primarily by the DE's. Our best DE on the team has 2.5 sacks right now. I like that Narduzzi is now playing more man coverage on defense, but the DL needs to get pressure in order for our DB's to have a chance. Also, Cadogen has over 30 offers from major programs, this is an indication of his ability. I'm not saying that Rolf, Hoover and others can't become very good players, I'm saying that MSU needs to continue to bring in great talent especially on the DL. Cadogen would add to the talent at DE and possibly be able to get early PT at MSU.

Spot on. Just like our second string RB situation last year... Lots of bodies, but nobody steps up.

Bump. Reminder, coming in for an unofficial with family this weekend. Was already here on his official. Cancelled his S. Carolina visit. Good chance of a RED which would be an awesome pickup.

"Stacked"? How many of these guys have played a single down in college football?

I was infering on the opinion that he would get earlier PT here. I agree that "stacked" isn't the right word, but we currently have 11 guys who fit the description as a DE, a position which only 2 guys play per down. He is a talent, but I'm not sold on him getting early PT or even playing as a true freshman. Just my opinion.

I know they have been working him out on the line but didn't he come in as a safety?

Drone actually came in as a HS LB. He is now 6'-2", about 246 lbs., on the Scout Team as a DE.
