Fantasy football question

Hey fantasy footballers, I'm in a keeper league and need to keep Fred Taylor (RB), Travis Henry (RB), or Tampa Bay's defense (TB). Thoughts? All three put up nearly identical fantasy points last year. Help please!

EDIT: I only get to keep one of these three (already keeping Jeff Garcia and Marvin Harrison).

Your defense's put up as many points as a RB??????? Your scoring system ius wacked man!

I would keep F.Taylor and TB defense if the points stay the same. T. Henry is a walking fumble and with the addition of W. McGehee (i think he went to BUF) he is looking to be on the way out. BUF lost Peerless Price and their passing game should struggle a little more which will put more pressure on T. Henry.

That being said Fraud Taylor has screwed me before by pulling his groin in Week 2 and never coming back in 2001 I think.

I think Taylor and Henry are fairly =, but I would lean toward Taylor and TB Def because they can't ALL get injured where as a individual player could....

Jacksonville is going to be pretty awful this year, so it might be pretty risky to keep fragile Fred Taylor.

I think keeping the Bucs D is probably your best bet. They played great in the second half of the season and are bringing back all of their key guys.

If those are your only choices, I'd agree with Cappy. You can't get a better defense than who you got, but I'm sure you can pick up a RB better than those guys.

Tampa Bay's defense.

Fred Taylor will be unproductive for four straight weeks that you start him, then you bench him, he'll rip off a 300 yard, three touchdown game, you'll put him back in, he'll get injured and the preview issues the following year will call Taylor, "Too good to pass up if he stays healthy and plays up to potential."

Henry is a bit harder, but you should be able to pick up a running back of Henry's caliber in the first or second rounds.

There are few "elite" defenses. If you can keep one of them, do so.

Does any of this change considering I have the first pick the draft (assuming 30 guys are protected by 10 teams)?

Keep Taylor. In FFL, a defense will be all world scoring wise one year and then down the next year. It is easier to get another defense than it is a starting RB. Taylor also has the potential to be a top 5 back or to get hurt early. When healthy he is a top 10 back.

I am also in a keeper league but we only get to keep one of our guys from last year. Would be nice to keep all three of my RBs but that isn't going to happen, so my question is do you take a chance. Here's the dilema.

My three RB's last year were Holmes, McAllister and Portis. I know it sounds like a dream come true but no one wanted Portis as we picked the Sun night after he had like 3 fumbles the previous day and Holmes and McAllister went 12 and 13 overall for me.
Anyway, the obvious choice would be Holmes except he is still not 100% recovered from the injury and may not ever be. Any thoughts?

I would keep Portis, Stan. Hip injuries might be worse than knees to a running back. With Portis you got a featured back that will catch passes for you too.

Stan - I didn't have Holmes and didn't know he was injured - what's the injury? He is such a stud I would keep him unless it appears likely he'll miss time.

The main article on ESPN.com is about Holmes' hip injury and whether he will come back fully healthy. As of now, no one knows.

I am in a similar situation. I am taking over a team and I get to keep two guys. I am trying to decide between Eddie George, Preist Holmes, Jake Plummer, and Rod Smith. Any ideas. I was pretty sure that Eddie George would be one of them, but wasn't sure about the others because of holmes injury.

Spartowski, I would keep Jake Plummer. I think he's gonna have a HUGE year in Shanahan's offense.

Thanks for the info, thankfully we aren't going to have to make up our minds until right before the season so I guess that I am going to wait and see. But Portis is looking better and better to me. He finished so strong and was so cocky last year that he is going to have to back it up.

yeah, he missed like the last two or three games of the regular season. It wasn't even close to half the season but it was enough to make me lose the finals, which was like $500 difference in prize money. But I wasn't too upset because he was the one and only reason that I was there pretty much.

Unfortunately, ESPN is making us choose today. Why, I have no idea

Well, I think I'm going with Taylor. Stacey Mack is in Houston now so maybe they'll give Taylor the ball on the goal line once in awhile. Henry fumbles too much and with Olandis Gary and McGahee behind him, its risky. I'm passing Tampa Bay cuz it turns out they averaged 2 less fantasy points per week than Taylor or Henry. Plus, they had the most roller-coaster like production of the three (7 games single digits compared to five for Taylor and Henry). Who knows. Now I can use the #1 pick in the draft on the best RB or WR out there. Thanks for your thoughts guys. Wish I had more time to decide.

Thats just plain dumb. I am in one with a bunch of my friends in Yahoo so we pick our own timeline. You just have to make sure that all the picks are in by the start of the season. And we all get together at someones place and make the picks. Make for an interesting Sunday. I don't know if anyone has read some of hte "Sports Guy's" draft column on ESPN.com page 2 but its a lot like that. Some guys start making some real interesting decisions after a couple of . Loads of laughter and fun

What are your possiblities for doing a trade for a draft pick choice. Our commish allows it as long as we get it in to him before we make our commitments for franchise players. If not, keep TB D.
