Need Your Opinion On A Fantasy Trade

I'm the commissioner of a league and I have a trade that is pending that I have been debating for 2 days. I've had two players say the trade is unfair, but I've personally been on the fence and hoping you guys can help me with it either way.

The trade is this..

Rafael Furcal (DL) Avg before going to the DL is .366 with 5 HR 16 RBI and 34 runs & 8 Stolen bases. (He is taking grounders and expected to return soon) He was on a tear before going to the DL

Players to trade for;

J.J Putz - 2 Wins / 6 Saves 5.60 ERA 1.92 Whip in 17.2 Innings pitched

Dan Haren - 6-0 65 K's 3.40 ERA with a whip of 1.06

The respected Offensive ranks based on stats for these guys are as followed;

Furcal = 99
--------------
Haren = 78

Putz = 645

-

When I first looked at it I basically took it as a heads up trade, Haren for Furcal and thowing on JJ Putz to seal the deal. However giving up haren who is healthy and ranked 78th, for a guy ranked 99th on the DL and then thowing on putz makes it a tough choice. A couple of the other teams think that's where the problem lies. Putz throws the trade over the top and makes it an unfair trade. I personally believe it's a fair trade but maybe I'm missing something?

Throw some opinions out there for me if you would. Or just let me know if you think its fair or not.

TIA

I would allow it, Putz doesn't throw the trade over the top at all, he's completely irrelevant. Said team probably is just short in the bullpen right now and needs some insurance.

Never, eeeeeever, use the rankings to judge a trade.

I never veto anything unless I view it as cheating. If both managers feel the trade improves their team, then let them do it.

I would allow it. Haren most likely won't keep up this pace, so it should be fine.

He has a few guys. I also never use just the rankings to make my choice. I just throw their average season ranking into the equation to give me an idea of how they have been on an average throughout the season.

I'd need to see their respective rosters. What does the guy trading for Furcal have as his infielders?

Sorry this is the guy giving up furcal, let me do the one for the guy getting him... one sec.

Youkilis
Uggla
Mora
Aurilia

This guy is pretty much loaded on pitching

Arroyo 4 wins
Main 6 wins
Sherrill 21 saves
papelbon 17 saves
Bj ryan 12 saves
Lincecum 8 wins
Wellemeyer 7 wins
Paddilla 7 wins
Johnson 4 wins
(he will be dropping arroyo with the trade)

So to be honest i think in the long run losing Furcal might hurt him. I don't see why he would care to have Putz with this saves he already has unless he is going to deal him after. with that line up that's my best guess.

Guess he just wants to load up on pitching so he knows he can atleast dominate those stats.

The guy getting furcal has this.

Fielder
Kinsler
Wiggington
Guillen

I think it's a horrible trade on his part personally, but he wanted to do it.

He is giving up half of his saves to get a guy on the DL, when he already has guillen in the SS position. He's a newbie

Haren - 6 wins
Johnathan Sanchez 4 wins
Rauch - 12 saves
Putz 6 saves
Contreras - 6 wins
F Hernandez 4 wins
D Wheeler 1 save 1 win
Marcum 5 wins
Beckett 6 wins
Martinez 1 win

I actually approved the trade about 2 hours ago, and the guy who gave up Furcal already put players on the trading block:K en Griffey Jr.,B.J. Ryan,Randy Johnson, for a Short stop position wanted. So...
I didn't think it was that horrible of a trade as it being "unfair" persay, just kinda odd in a lot of way's.

Unorthodox is the word I would use. His plan appears to have been to improve his shortstop and (already dominant) pitching staff. If it works, he's a genius. Otherwise it might backfire.

this looks to me like an experienced player trying to swindle a newbie. newbie saw Furcal's absurd average and thought "wow this must be quite a player" and thought putz and haren would be a small price to pay.

i woudln't have let it through, but it's not that awful.
