Thoughts on Potential Trade?
Ok, so a guy in my league offered this, and I'm having a hard time making up my mind, so some input would be appreciated.
He offered Peyton Manning and Devery Henderson to me for Willis McGahee. I would like to strike while the iron is hot with McGahee, but the problem is I don't have much RB depth right now. I've got Portis, LaDanian, McGahee, and Sproles as RBs currently, and it's a league where there are 2 RB spots and one RB/WR spot, so I can potentially start 3. I don't have much WR depth either, having TO, Wes Welker, Gonzalez (injured for a while) and a bunch of junk. My QBs are Edwards (who is actually out-performing Manning right now) and McNabb, so QB is not a pressing need but it would be nice to have someone like Manning, and to pick up another WR. Anyone think McGahee can possibly keep up near to this level of production?

4 points for a passing TD, 1 point for every 25 passing yards.

This guy would probably say don't do it:

What in the world are we supposed to do with Willis McGahee?
Start him, of course. Next question.
Seriously, there's no doubt that McGahee is the surprise story of the 2009 Fantasy season. After being overlooked in drafts thanks to Ray Rice's promotion to the starting unit -- a position he still has by the way -- McGahee slipped into middle- to late-round territory and was picked as a reserve.
But in two games against two suspect run defenses, McGahee has done nearly all of the scoring with four total touchdowns -- two each week. And it's no wonder why -- he's been the Ravens' tailback inside their opponents' 10, not Le'Ron McClain. The Ravens have also used McGahee in an undefined rotation with Rice and McClain when they're not inside the 10, giving him more work. McGahee actually had practically twice as many carries as Rice and four more total touches.
You almost feel like there's going to be a dramatic drop-off with McGahee because his two-touchdown per game pace is not only unbelievable but unrealistic. OK, fine, that's true. But a 15-touch back weekly with goal-line work? That's not just startable Fantasy potential, kids, that's No. 1 Fantasy running back potential. And that's what he's been so far.
It's only going to get better too, for him and the Ravens: Between now and Week 11 he has exactly one difficult matchup (at Minnesota, Week 6). In that span he sees the Browns twice, the Bengals twice, the Patriots once (they're an iffy run defense right now) and the Broncos and Colts.
If you own him, start him. Simple as that. If you don't own him, get him but don't overpay. Or better yet, be sneaky and try to snare Rice on the cheap since he's still getting a lot of work but is getting overshadowed by McGahee's performances. Either way, the Ravens look like they're going to shatter the expectations we had for them before the season.

Is he right? I dunno. You don't (frankly) seem to need Peyton, and Devery is a real hit-or-miss character (long TD's combined with drops when the pass hits him right in the hands; there's also a wealth of options in NO, and he's just one of many).
Bottom line, I think it's a fair offer, but doesn't address your needs. ("That means 'no.'" ) LT/Sproles are basically one back if LT is down (as he is this week), Portis sucks, and ... McGahee. Who else can you pick up on waivers for WR or RB? Anybody?

I would, then use Peyton or your current starting QB as trade bait for a good WR

So as an update, I ended up making the trade...it actually worked out for both teams. Henderson got me 4 points in the flex spot while McGahee would have gotten me 16, but Manning got me 30 instead of the 6 I would have gotten had I started Trent Edwards. I've got McNabb on the bench, maybe I can get a serviceable WR for him.
