Who Would You Rather Have on Your Fantasy Team: C-Rog or Plax
I feel like Plax is a proven performer coming off a down year, but Rogers has more upside. Plax also has to compete for catches with Hines Ward whereas Rogers is battling a rookie for catches.

Plax is a headcase.
C-Rog seems to be on the right track. His shoulder is OK and he's ready to have a much better season. I see maybe 70 catches - 8 TDs? Good #2, or #3 Fantasy starter depending on how many teams in your league.
I have C-Rog as my #3
My WR's (In relative order)
C. Johnson
P. Price
C-Rog
R. Wayne
D. Driver

Take whichever one you think will have the better quarterbacking this season.

So neither?
I'm not sure what is scarier from a fantasy perspective, Harrington or Maddox / Rothslisbergetrufifnmsd,fn/g (sp?)

I think unless you're in a real deep league you should be able to pick up any one of these guys BEFORE C-Rogs.
R. Moss
M. Harrison
T. Holt
T.O.
C. Johnson
D. Mason
S. Moss
J. Horn
I. Bruce
H. Ward
Chambers
L. Coles
A. Johnson
D Jax
IMO that's 14 guys off hand i'd take before Rogers and that's a deep league if you have more than 14 teams

40oz, that's why I didn't suggest one or the other. I'm leaving it to each reader to decide which quarterback situation is, uh, less desperate than the other.

40 oz,
I would not take Jax?, Chambers, Horn, Mason, or Bruce before C. Rog.

Plax - it's the last year of his contract.

Horn - 78 - 973yrds 10 TD's
Mason - 95 - 1303 yrds 8 TD's
Chambers - 64 - 963 yrds 11TD's
D Jax - 68 - 1137 9TD's
Bruce - 69 - 981yrds 5TD's
C-Rog - 22 -243 3TD's
I see C-Rog having a good year (maybe 900 yrds) but he is a much bigger risk only having 4-5 NFL games under his belt.
With the exception of Chambers, all of those guys are on better passing offenses than C-Rog also.

wow.....
I'm just saying there are BETTER choices than C-Rog. The guy has not even played 1/2 of an NFL season! His QB is questionable. The running game is unproven. He is not a Top 15 WR. No way.
Fantasy is not won with WR's. Backfields win championships. Take your chances with D. Davis's upside, R.Johnson, L. Suggs etc. Take WR's that get it done. 8-10 TDs last year and are still in the same system. There are much better places to take a chance than C-Rog as your #1.
FWIW, M. Harrison vs. R. Wayne.....

I'll be lucky if I get either one of them. However, I would prefer CRog.....he still seems excited and motivated to perform in the NFL. Besides, I think that he and Harrington are actually going to make beautiful music together this year.

I have to agree w/ 40 oz, C-rog has a lot of potential, but the others guys have the experience factor, and the stat history. That makes them a better fantasy pick then Charles in charge.
Do you want a guy who has ave 8-10 TD for two or three years or an unproven rookie
Yes i know this is c-rog second year

C. Rog's numbers are only for the part of the season he was healthy. If you think he's an injury prone WR, that's one thing, but C. Rog will get 10-12 TD's and 1000 yards this year. I'm not a Lions fan by any stretch, but Harrington shoukld be better as well.

I've run a maximum likelihood regression on next season and found that Plax is worth 46.876543 fantasy points with a standard error of 6.7653, while CRog is worth 37.980658 with a 24.87656 standard error. That's a huge devation, resulting from a low t-stat - since he doesn't have enough data to get a high degree of confidence. His upside is huge though.
I'm going to run these numbers into my model and see where an appropriate draft number for them would be.
Also, what if it's a keeper league?

Rogers. Plax is stellar when motivated, and a head-case PITA when not. Too inconsistent for the physical tools he has. Give him the work ethic of Jerry Rice, and he'd top Randy Moss for top receiver in the league. But that will never happen.
Rogers.

Believe me, I have him in my big $ league, so I'm rooting for him, and also because he plays on the Lions.

Would you burn a 5th or 6th round pick on Rogers?

I would probably burn a 5th or 6th round pick on him. Get 2 RB's, a top WR, and either a QB or another WR before you pick C. Rog. I doubt he will last that long though. Most Lions fans in my league are salivating over him. I have both Moss and Culpepper, so I'm not worried about a WR yet. I need RB's!
