Fantasy tiebreakers
My league is entering into its final week of the regular season and, of course, this is where all the controversy starts. Our commissioner is just now putting up the tiebreaker system and he may be screwing me over.
I play in a 10 man league, 2 divisions of 5. The top 4 in each division make the playoffs. For anyone in a similar league, what is the tiebreaker system in your league?

Tiebreakers:
1. Head to head record of the teams tied
2. Total points

Head to head
Divisional record
Total points
Coin flip (roll of dice if more than one team at this point)

Shouldn't the tiebreaker system have been determined before the season starts, to avoid any conflict of interest on the commissioners part?

If this is how ours is set up, then I'm screwed. I have him beat in every tie breaker possible except Division record.
Probably because it's working against me, but I don't agree that the divisional record should be ahead of total points. With our schedule, we play every team the same amount of times, so why are the divisional games more important? I can understand why they do it in the NFL since the teams don't have the same opponents outside the divison, but that doesn't apply here. I would think total points is more indicative of the better team. That, or head to head record for all games played. In other words if the 2 teams tied played each other every week, who would have the better record?

That's what I said at the draft and in an email to him about a month ago. I'm the new guy and only know 2 other guys in the league, so I can't say too much. Overall, it's been a good league but I can see some storms brewing.

My league has talked about adding division record and probably will do so next season. It will come before total points.
Your the type of guy that makes being a fantasy commissioner a pain in the behind

How so? I'm pretty laid back about the whole thing. In fact, I reminded the commish today that he should probably get the tiebreaker rules on the website before next weekend's games to avoid any major problems. I gave him my suggestions but told him to do what he feels is the best.
Believe me, I'm not that guy.

Why even have playoffs if everyone but 2 teams make it to them

I was kidding.
I posted my league rules a few weeks back to remind my league how the ties where broken. Of course someone didn't like it, even though its been the same for the last five years.

Listen, I didn't make the rules, I'm only playing by them. I'm asking for tiebreaker rules, not opinions on the league set up.
You can question this, too..... there was $2,000 collected at the beginning of the season. The league is set up so the Super Bowl winner collects $1400. So, potentially, you could finish tied for last in your division, make the playoffs, go on a 3 game winning streak and win $1400. I say tha because that's what I'm looking do. I didn't agree with it, but that's how it was set up.

Actually, 4-8. However, 3 of the losses were by less than 4 points. Another loss was when I had the 2nd highest point total for the week. I've won 3 in a row and outscored all teams over the last month. Plus, the other teams in my division have suffered key injuries. Like they say, it's not how you start, it's how you finish.
