He's obviously a very talented basketball player... whether he fits our team or not, that's for TI and the rest of the coaching staff to decide.

That we're going harder for Wilson is no secret to anyone, but we shouldn't be bashing Howell just because he's not our first option.
Nick and others are going to be doing some serious backpeddling if Howell comes to MSU. I don't think Howell and MSU being together will happen, but it would be funny to watch those bashing Howell change their tune.

At the risk of starting a riot, here's from ESPN's coverage of Vegas:
"Howell had a terrific performance against fast-rising senior 6-9 Ryan Kelly. He used his strength, solid post footwork and 3-point shooting touch to score at will throughout most of the contest against the longer Kelly. He has a soft shooting touch out to the stripe and knows how to use his impressive frame and hang time to convert against taller opponents. Howell is one of the most improved players from a year ago in the Class of 2009."

Richard would've been a GREAT backup plan to Jamil. Unfortunately you can't have a backup plan that's going to commit to a program before your primary plan. Lotso eggs are in Jamil's basket. Let's hope it works out for the G&W.

MSU isnt even mentioned by Howell anymore. That's how much MSU backed off. The guy is a great player and will be a great player. MSU has other needs though.

further review from Vegas week on Howell,

Richard Howell (6-7, 220)
Senior, Marietta, Ga./ Wheeler
Howell has been dominant this tournament. He is a skilled 4 who can either maneuver inside for the score or take his defender off the bounce. He is extremely quick and his handle has tightened up since last year. He has a nice feel for the game in the paint area and threaded the needle a couple of times with his passing ability.

Please Tom , pick up the phone and get with this kid. Maybe we can still get in with him, who knows.

Sounds like he is on his way to being a top 20 player like I said all along.

Why beat a dead horse as they say. He is NOT being recruited by MSU any longer, give it up.

Yep. It's a solid get for NC state. He will be more productive in his career than JJ Hickson was. He is a four year player who will give good production all four years.

At least RCD can shut up now or he's just going to continue bashing Izzo.
