From what i have read on the forums is this guy is pretty inconsistent, and RC if your sources say we are not going after this guy, what are your reasons?

No, I really don't think he is going to "blow up" in college. I cannot understand how you can not score more in high school games if you are as big as Riley (and for all in love with star ratings, don't say it is because they don't go inside in high school. And, if that is the case, how can he only score 16 points in like 7 games at Boo Williams?)
Plus, isn't he listed at 6'10-6'11, and so, the can't teach height thing doesn't exactly fit. It is not like he is 7'2.

King James Shooting Stars Classic per Rivals
Quote:

DaShonte Riley had one great move with a spin to the middle of the lane off a pivot and scored with a face up jumper. Other than that, he was quiet from a scoring standpoint. He and fellow big man Donnovan Kirk worked well with the high-low offense in the first half. Riley's length played a factor, too. He was still far from doing what he's capable of though.

Rivals has a video clip of him up today. It has to be some kind of cruel joke. The highlight, or lowlight, features Riley missing free throws, taveling, and shooting airballs. I think he makes two lay ups and that's it.

I think our pick up of Nix and Sherman meant Riley wouldn't be playing here.

Georgetown is a patient program. Hibbert was less than stellar for 2 years. After seeing Riley play numerous times I don't know if his personality and Izzo's would be a good long term fit. Georgetown gets him into smaller school, away from MI. I hope he does well. He is out of the Big Ten
Right now Riley needs pounds and an outside shot to see regular playing time at any major program.

Its a good pickup if they redshirt him. He has the defense but no offense. If they dont and rush him then he will be a bust

Is this old news
Georgetown recruit DaShonte Riley informed coach John Thompson earlier this week that he will decommit from the Hoyas. The 6-foot-11, 220-pound center from Detroit Country Day (Bloomfield Hills, Mich.) gave the Hoyas an oral commitment last summer but changed his mind after taking his official visit to Georgetown earlier this fall.
"[Riley] just said after he returned from his official visit that he didn't feel like it was the right fit for him," Detroit Country Day coach Kurt Keener said. "I know his mother felt that he had committed a little too early in the process. They discussed the situation after he returned from his official visit, and he called the staff at Georgetown recently and informed them he would be reopening his recruitment.
"My feeling is that it is now doubtful that he will end up at Georgetown."

We are pretty well set with smaller players.
I say get this kid if Wilson doesnt commit. I would rather take a chance with 3 bigs(and one of them actually becoming a game changer)

We have four scholarships available in this class, so we could take Riley AND Wilson. I don't see an offer coming any time soon, but if he impressed during the season and none of the 2010 bigs do, I could absolutely see take Riley and redshirting at least one if not two of the three big guys then.
