Second, I have to go with Chi Town on this one, especially since I posted a similar comment earlier. I'm sure there are some unethical activities out there, but to single out a kid for decommitting or committing to a school with "ties" to AAU programs is a pretty bold statement. The NCAA investigates these things and until someone gets sanctions we should take the high road and consider them clean rather than make unwarranted accusations, unless you've seen him given money or something the rest of us are unaware of. In which case you should probably make a call to the NCAA yourself to report that action.

I just try to have a positive energy when we get kids to commit and when they go elsewhere I wish them the best of luck and refocus on my program and where we go from there.
because of his contract

Because he ****ing convinced a girl that one of his players raped to NOT go to the police because HE would take care of it, then he covered the whole thing up and silenced her for, what, a year and half or so? Then she goes public and all hell breaks loose, and Barrent decides to get the hell outta there and play for , and everything's miraculously been quiet again. Any AD with any sort of a backbone pulls the trigger ASAP, but when you've got a good thing going and the media's in your back pocket, you can do what Iowa did and pretend like nothing ever happened.

guess I'm the idiot. I knew about some character issues, but not that one. I still haven't heard anyone from the Iowa fans I know complain about him. I used to live in IC, but haven't for 2 years so that may have changed. They usually commented to me about how the Detroit kids were ruining their program, nothing about Ferentz. Thanks for the clarification on that one guys.

Not a chance. That scholarship is banked for 2010. Now that said, if he totally blows up this year while Horford & Gauna regress, I could see the staff pulling the trigger. With that in mind, the early returns on Horford and Gauna are encouraging, so this scenario is extremely unlikely.

Probably a good situation for him...Syracuse doesn't force their big men to work too hard. Best of luck to him
