Is 5* Jamil Wilson going to be a Spartan

A number of folks on the Wisky board seem to think so.Seems Bo just signed a kid that pretty much fills them up.

A fan made the comment to the effect....can you imagine Wilson and Lucious in the backcourt at MSU.(Both Wisconsin studs)

Lot of hate going on over there regarding Bo pulling the trigger on another way lower rated recruit.

I would love to get this kid, hope they're fans are right

Edit...09 class

Unfortunately

With Crean recruiting him to Marquette before moving to Indiana, MSU has just gotten back in contact with him. MSU had not contacted him for quite awhile.

Izzo has a lot of groung to make up. Hopefully Wilson is taking his time, that would be the best case for MSU. They need him up here for the summer scrimmages.

He has stated that he wants to wait until March of 09 to commit to honor his mother, so I would say that MSU still has time.

I would assume that Indiana will still be in the mix now and I'm sure Marquette's new coach will be putting the full court press on as he needs to make a splash.

The recent UW commit puzzles me as the 09 was off to a good start with the kid from Minnesota and Diamond Taylor. Seems like they could get a kid like Evans at the last minute a year from now, if things didn't work out with Wilson or Royce White.

Great great great news, more proof that he was steering away from the kid because of Crean. Up to the 9th player in the nation according to Scout.

I hate that Izzo backed off but hopefully he can still lure him in, especially with Wisky full (is there any truth to that?)?

The relationship with KLIF2 can't hurt at all.

If this young man really liked Crean then I could see him ending up at IU. Lots of openings and lots of playing time for a top notch National program. I guess that any NCAA sanctions might play a role in this but if they aren't too harsh then I could see IU getting this kid.

That appears unlikely, so Crean will instead have to rely on getting players to come to IU on unofficial visits, and he’ll rely heavily on his yet-to-be-named coaching staff to be on the road evaluating talent during the important spring and summer AAU circuit.

Scout - Jamil Wilson: Confused But Hopeful $

Article is about Illinois' interest....which apparently is very little. No offer and barely talks to him.

Illinois fluff piece...that about sums up that article, with the fluffing coming from the author.

Yes, there is truth to that.

At this point UW is full. However, Royce White has also recently mentioned that UW is still recruiting him. So, either Bo is still recruiting for 2009 just in case, or he has reason to believe that there will be an opening for White or Wilson.

The only opening I could possibly see is if JP Gavinski leaves. He didn't see any real time as a Frosh and the '08 UW class has 2 more bigs. I don't really see it though, as he lists the best moment in his life as when he signed his LOI to play at UW. Seems like he is living his dream by just being on the roster. Who knows though.

I have no idea why he keeps being referred to as a PF, his handles are better than most PGs. And he's way too skinny to do any banging in the post.

There's also still some question in my mind about Ryan Evans' scholarship situation. The first report I saw from him was that he was going to walk on. I think that was a week or two prior to the news breaking of his commitment. So there's some speculation that he's still kind of a preferred walk-on who will have a schollie in '08 and a schollie anytime one is available. Gavinski is one that people seem to point to as a possible transfer or something else. It's possible his conditioning hasn't come around to where Bo needs it to be. Who knows.

Whatever the case may be, it doesn't sound like Wisconsin is slowing down its '09 recruiting efforts. They certainly aren't acting like their class is full and I expect that they plan on bringing another recruit in for '09.
