Well I'm Sure Korie and Delvon will try to talk him into it along with Izzo. The players help with recruiting just as much as the coaches. CBS has the commercials where they ask the coaches and one of the ones they asked izzo was how players and their help with recruiting is huge. MSU has some good recruiters like Kalin, Rell, and Korie.

Hasn't talked to Crean yet. Will take official visits to MSU, Duke, Indiana, & Kansas for sure. Fifth official will be to either Tennessee, Purdue, or UCLA.

Wisconsin and MU are still very much in it. They just aren't getting an official because there's really no need to have an official. It's been reported that he's been to Madison and Milwaukee so frequently that there's little else to learn (Paraphrasing the story I read)

It'll be a MSU and IU fight with IU having the lead as of now because of crean.

just a snipper from one of the articles that mentions the reason of uw/marquette not getting a visit:
"...However, he won’t make an official visit to either Wisconsin or Marquette — simply because he’s been to both of those schools on numerous occasions." - Gery Woelfel April 2 The Journal Times. There are other mentions by WI HS Prep reporters that the five schools getting a visit don't mean the top 5. I still don't think he's coming to UW (no schollies) but it's a bit premature to say that the instate schools (especially marquette) are out because they won't be getting OFFICIAL visits. They've gotten numerous unofficial visits each throughout the recruiting process. |

![]() There are huge differences between an official and an unofficial visit. You can't wine, dine, transport and lodge a prospective recruit to the same extravagant extent on an unofficial visit as you are allowed to during an official visit. Really, it's not even close.

Isn't Wilson a Wisconsin kid that Wisconsin has been recruiting and a recruit that Wisconsin fans would love to see end up in Madison? So you know...I'm referring to all of this from a fan's perspective, not from the coaching staff's perspective. Bo Ryan may very well have zero remaining interest in Wilson...but Wisky fans sure do. Any Badger fan who claims that he'd rather have Ryan Evans instead Jamil Wilson is lying through his teeth.

Based on having never seen Wilson or Evans play and not being able to critique their abilities even if I had I would say that yes, I would prefer Wilson to Evans. But I base that solely on buzz, ratings, hype, etc. And as there are so many things that go on in recruiting it's hard to really tell what reality is in this case. It's possible Bo Ryan views Evans as a better prospect than Wilson. It's possible Wilson isn't interested in UW and so they've moved on. Or that Ryan is no longer interested in Wilson. It's possible that Evans is actually a preferred walk-on who is guaranteed an '08 scholarship but '09 and beyond is contingent upon Wilson or someone else. It's also possible someone else is leaving the program. The situation appears from a distance to be pretty clear. But the closer you get the fuzzier it gets.
Either way, I trust the judgment of Bo Ryan until the day comes when he proves I can no longer trust that judgment. |

I just can't believ this kid would choose to go to a school that will be as shackled as IU will be after those sanctions come down. Make no mistake, they will be severe.
These kids want exposure and want to compete. They get both with the NCAA Tournament. IU won't be dancing for a few... Wilson will not be a Hoosier... I am not saying he will be a Spartan either, but he would be crazy to go to IU at a time like this... ![]() |

Yes it can
As a player you want your future coach to be mentioned for every great job opening when you know he is not leaving. The higher the reputation of the prospective coach, the easier it is to commit to him if you know he is not going anywhere.
The old phrase, "any publicity is good publicity". |
