I have a feeling Wilson is going to be a Spartan.

Just a hunch, but reading between the lines, the fact him and Lucious live 20 minutes apart. His enjoying playing with Roe last year. His public comments that Izzo teams are a well run ship and are "Like Family"

Just a hunch, but this recent press by Izzo i think is going to land MSU this kid.

It would be nice and I get the feeling that we have a very good shot at him but ever since Strickland (sp) I'm not counting on anything until they sign that LOI.

GO GREEN!

I am a premium scout member and some of the stuff i have seen on there (in particular the bantering with Lucious)leads me to believe if Izzo rolls up his sleeves, we get this stud.

I don't like to hear the stuff about him wanting/needing to be either a starter or one of the first one or two players off the bench. Not because I think it's a bad mentality (if you think you're good enough then you think you're good enough...and I agree with Jamil that's he probably good enough)...but because MSU's expected depth chart when he has scheduled his "announcement" (ie. March 8th, 2009) is going to appear pretty logjammed.

PG...Lucas, Jr...Lucious, Soph
SG...Allen, Jr...Summers, Jr
SF...Morgan, Sr...Dahlman, Sr...Thornton, Soph
PF...Roe, Soph...Green, Soph
CT...Herzog, Jr...Sherman, Frosh...Nix, Frosh

Now I personally don't think that Jamil has anything to worry about with regards to Dahlman or Thornton, but will he see it the same way? I hope so. As a tall, long and versatile combo-forward, I think there is the potential for a HUGE role on MSU waiting for him in his freshman season.

When decision time finally rolls around, Wilson's family will play a key role in helping him assess which program suits him best. To this point, his father's guidance has been one of the keys to keeping recruiting in proper perspective. That's something his mother was a major part of as well until her untimely passing due to cancer last year. To honor her memory, the date in which he reveals his collegiate choice to the world will have special significance.
This above all things is why I like MSU's chances with this kid. Izzo always seems to be the "parent's choice" with most of the kids he recruits. If Wilson's father is going to play a big role in his choice of schools, we've got an excellent chance.

I rarely say this, rh, but I think you're right.

The ONLY thing that bugs me is Izzo seemingly laid off the kid for quite a while in deference to Crean. The kid has noted that (And is well aware they are buddies)
That said, we arent laying off any longer, and Jamil seems pleased by this turn of events.
He genuinely seems to like the idea of playing with Korrie, and it doesnt hurt he has also played in an all star game with Roe either.
He will have people he knows should he come here to help in his new environment.

Rivals - Wilson not giving up on Duke

Once thought to be a shoe-in to stay in-state, Duke was a childhood favorite but haven't offered.

I think it is likely he would be first off the bench especially if Raymar continues his foul trouble

And by his Soph year he would be the starting SF and possibly get some minutes at PF.

uh, if he's worried about them...then i'm worried about him.

i highly doubt any top ranked recruit would worry about those two

Jamil is a 5 star superstar and he doesn't have to worry about any playing time or competition. He'd be on the floor early and often as a Spartan. I would be VERY VERY excited about this addition to this class!

Imagine a bench with Lucious, Summers, Wilson and Green?

Dynamic would be an understatement.

my father works in Milwaukee and is close friends to the people close to the programs at MSU. He called me this week while i was studying for finals and said that he has seen izzo multiple times this week in Wisconsin. Izzo is rolling up the sleeves and i think its only a matter of time now.

That's assuming Raymar stays for his senior year. He'll be our top player this year with Nietzel gone, and the spotlight will be on him. If he does jump, there will be an immediate need for a small forward and Jamil Wilson could step right in.

1) Morgan is a 4 year player unless he really transforms his game over the summer.

2) Staying on topic is hard.
