He likes Xavier a lot. I have not read the latest but Xavier has been his long time favorite.

With us not pursuing Stewart hard, letting have Crean have his way with Wilson, Howell dropping, who the hell are we after? I have read not to glowing reports on Riley and hear that we are after Kirk. Who else are going hard for? Not panicing just surprised about the usual suspects not looking so great according the posters here and have not really hear any new names.

You are not alone. I'd also be interested to hear if anyone has any strong opinions along these lines. Are there guys likely to come out of AAU making the entire journey from relative obscurity to star recruit? Could this just turn into a year far short of the past two (I'm a Sherman fan, BTW)?

It happens every year. One thing to remember...the rankings on Rivals and Scout haven't been touched since last August. Every year, there are kids that go from being a top 10 player in August to being outside the top 100 in April (and vice-versa). It is way too early to be worried about our 2009 class. There are kids in the 2009 class that scouts didn't get a chance to see last AAU season, doesn't mean they aren't good. Some AAU programs don't let kids play up a level and scouts don't spend much time watching 16U AAU games, instead they focus on the 17U level (rising seniors).
March is a dead month for recruiting...high school basketball is over and college coaches are preparing for the NCAA tournament. The AAU season heats up in April, there will be new names on the radar.

Given the break between HS and AAU, isn't this normally a time for those rankings to be updated? That would be nice to see. I know it's not what they'll look like by the time these kids hit campus, but the closer we get the more accurate they are.

BANG! That's right on the money, thanks. This answers a lot. Now, before we get chased off this thread, I look for further posts on the general threads.

They usually update them after the first few major AAU events...so late April, early May

Thanks.
I wish they'd give a little more heads up. It seems like I get on here or go to Rivals one day and it's there.

Scout - Could ATL's Stewart be MSU Bound? - $
Hasn't heard from MSU since the season started last year. Says he likes MSU and wishes they would recruit him harder.

No ****. This is two of these type articles in as many weeks. Trust Izzo, but it's not good to hear that a player wishes he was being recruited harder.

I bet Izzo has his reasons why he is not recruiting some of these kids hard.

Who is he going hard after? It seems like every article I read is about some kid wishing Izzo would recruit him harder or some story about izzo cooling on the kid. So who is in the group izzo is going hard after? It seems like Riley, Stewat, Hollowel, White, Wilson, are in the lightly recruited group. So who is in the strong group?? Kirk, Cousins, Still, who else is there?

maybe some of these kids think that coaches should call and send love letters to them a couple times a day

You don't say? I figured that Izzo just threw darts at a board to determine who he recruits hard and who he backs off of. You mean he actually thinks about this stuff?
That all said, I'm sure he also had his reasons why he recruited Walton and Dahlman instead of other players who might've been available at the time. Keep in mind that just because something is a reason doesn't mean that it's right. It's just a reason.
For example, the reason I slept with that 200 pound blonde last night was because I was drunk and she was easy. Now that's a reason and it seemed to make sense at the time...but in hindsight, was it a good reason?
