Apparently he's dropped some weight (like 25 lbs.) since January. You can tell a big difference if you watch his Boo Williams film vs. HS season film. Much quicker and more agile, not as glued to the ground. Looks good

Sean May is 265+ and didn't have problems running the floor for Carolina

Great get by Izzo. A big, big bruiser down low who won't be pushed around. With his performances at Boo Williams and elsewhere, he seems to be finally getting more attention. If the weight comes off and stays off, he could be a beast down low.

Welcome to MSU.

he's already been ranked...he's a zero star. i saw him play last week and when he came off the bench he tripped over his feet and fell to the ground. he played the next 3 quarters on his stomach. it was quite embarrassing.

also, because of his zero star ranking, every other player around him will be averaged out lower (nix will be higher), so right now sherman and nix are actually 1.5 star players, which means they will run into each other when they play and could potentially knock each other out.

that means for the next 4-5 years MSU will be playing 3 against 5.

and to think it's all because he is a zero star....

A lot of sobering criticism on the first page of this thread. Hope you guys are wrong.

Why is he listed as a 2010 recruit on scout? Just a mistake?

I thought the rules were that you could not criticize on the recruiting forums.

You can criticize, but you can't bash. Saying that someone doesn't have a finished low post game or they aren't very fast isn't bashing. Saying that they are fat and that they suck is. I'd hope that people would be able to know the difference when they go to comment on players, though.

Alright for everyone that is bitching about this pick lets put it in perspective. Who remembers the Indiana game where Thomas just bulldozed his way around us. Who remembers the days of Big Al for us? Izzo is going back to what got him Big Ten Championships. He wants a guy who is going to rumble down low and get some hard fouls. I doubt that Nix will be a star. The scholarship Izzo used was not for a star, but a guy who will go rumble down low for rebounds and send a message.

I don't think he has the post repetoire of Randolph, but the one common thing I keep reading is great footwork and soft hands. I had never seen a more polished freshmen post player then Randolph, so if this kid has any of that polish we will be in a good place by his sophomore or junior year.

Nix is like in the middle of a Glen *Big Baby* Davis and an Arthur Johnson and I thik you have the making of a future stud in college. The dude will be a 4 Star for all of you rating geeks. Sherman will be a high 3 star.
