How is this forum organized?
Unlike other recruiting forums, our goal is to create one new "player thread" for each player that MSU is interested in. All discussion on this site about a particular player's recruitment should be done in their respective "player thread."

The first post in each player thread will be updated over time with news story links about that recruit. That way it's always easy to find news about a recruit without having to read through the whole thread.

We will include news story links from both premium sources (denoted by a "$" in the link) and free news sources.

Can I start a new player thread?
Yes, but please follow this format:

Thread title should follow this format:
YEAR STATE POSITION NAME (MSU's status)

For example:
'08 MI QB Johnny Superstar (MSU Offer)
The first post in each thread should include the player's height, weight, star-ranking, etc.

Can we start other recruiting related threads?
Yes, as long as they are recruiting related and not specific to one player. For example, these would be appropriate:

tOfficial 2008 Signing Day thread
Direction of MSU's 2008 LB class
What are our positions of need for the class of 2008?

What would NOT be appropriate, and would belong in a player thread would be threads such as:

How did Johnny Superstar win last night in the state playoffs?
Which school is Johnny Superstar leaning towards?
What color socks did Johnny Superstar wear on his visit to MSU last week?

All of those topics belong in that player's "player thread" and topics such as those would be merged into it.

How is this forum different than Rivals or Scout?
Well, for one thing, this forum is free. Also, we are not a news source, we are a news aggregator. That means that we plan to include news links from all over the web, organized in one easy to find "player thread" for each recruit.

What are the rules for this forum? Are they different from the rules elsewhere on the site?
