A 6'4'' point guard...?? Even with above average talent this kid could be NBA worthy...Scouts salivate over that kind of height at the point guard position...

Hopefully Braylon isn't in his ears telling him to go to UM.

Hopefully Izzo gets into his ears and the kid really progresses... as this is one of the things I have been stating that we need: taller guards...

Neitzel was one of my favorite , but we NEED taller guards.... 6'4" PG is a start, but we need some 6'5+ SG similar to Corey Brewer (thats why I wouldn't mind taking Noel Johnson out of the ATL)

Braylon's already working him hard, but he's a Southeastern kid, and the SE coaches are very MSU friendly, plus Charles Burrell & Fred Smith could get involved.

If they take Appling at PG in the 2010 class, it looks like they like the 6'7" Byrd & the 6'5" (and growing) Ziegler to fill the SG spot, so the guards *should* be taller going forward.

Wrong. Mark White, ex of Renaissance High School, is the coach at Detroit Southeastern. The same guy who gets pissed at the in-state schools who do not offer him jobs (UM and Tommy Amaker), so he directs his players elsewhere (Joe Crawford). I would hardly say he is MSU friendly. Remember, prior to Derrick Nix, the only PSL kid MSU had with Izzo was Ager, and his high school coach is an assistant at Syracuse.

Izzo has a good relationship with Mark White though.

The new issue of The Wolverine talks about some regional recruits and U-M. They close their piece on Kearney by saying that U-M has already offered but he is "enamored" with Tom Izzo and MSU.

I assume this is the case with most players in the state of Michigan. U-M hasn't been good at basketball for much of their lives, while MSU has been an elite program over that same stretch of time.
