'10 Recruiting Targets

I recognize it's early but who are some of our top targets? Are any of those top targets strong MSU leans?

Scouts 5* and 4* doesn't show many kids with MSU as a school of interest.

Thanks

Look on the board. There are multiple threads created for '10 targets.

Appling (Pershing), Ziegler (Mt. Pleasant) are supposed to be the top players in Michigan for the class. Ziegler might be a bit of a longshot, since his dad coaches at CMU. Appling's supposed to be a MSU lock (or close to it). Another guy to watch out for is Al Horford's brother

Look for Ziegler to go to UCLA where his dad was an assitant to Howland before he took the CMU job. Look for Appling to be a Spartan. If Jon Horford turns into a high major PF than look for him to go to MSU. Mike Talley III and Juwan Moody are the in state PGs in that class for '10 so keep an eye on those kids as well. They both are short but remember they are also very young.

I don't know about Ziegler to UCLA. Izzo's generally got good relationships with most coaches in Michigan not located in AA, and Coach Ziegler (like most good parents) probably wants his kid to find a school that has the opportunity for immediate playing time or a favorable depth chart (both possibilities assuming MSU doesn't land Wilson). UCLA will be a major player in his recruitment I think, but I would be surprised if MSU doesn't show a pretty good level of interest.

Whoa, I don't think we could have a guy named "Juwan Howard." That'd be weird.

And some people here think just talking about a 2011 commit in LaDonte Henton is wrong. You have to recruit guys when they are younger. Jim Boylen of Utah offered Henton a 'ship before he played a game in high school.
