That #111 is a little generous imo.

Hmmm..Howell at #73...who was it that thought he was going to be a top 20 player for the next rankings? I believe I said between 45-75.

I don't know who said that but I'm kind of surprised by Wilson's plummet in the rankings. That said, at the end of the day, the rankings mean nothing and I'll be pretty disappointed if MSU doesn't get at least one out of either Howell and Wilson. MSU needs to start stacking up at the combo-forward position.

Wow riley droped, wasn't he a top 25 before? I know he's pretty much sucked and was ranked purely on upside potential but damn.

PrepSpotlight, Scout, and everyone else has Wilson MUCH higher. Rivals probably dropped him based on his stats at his last several AAU outings, in which he's clearly decided to take a backseat to teammate Johnnie Lacy who's put up huge numbers.

And you believe these rankings reflect the first 2 weeks of the AAU season? Doubt it. And I believe I said he would end up 1 top 20 player.

Boy that Jamil Wilson everyone wants took quite a hit, eh?

Actually Wilson was ranked lower last time on rivals. He's a top 10 player on Scout.

Wilson was ranked in the 30s last time on rivals. He has not been impressive on the AAU circuit this past month. Probably a little to do with playing on a team with a ballhog. He also needs to gain that "go to guy" attitude to take advantage of his abilities.

White has been tearing it up on the circuit. He's the most complete player skill wise currenlty coming to the B10. Impressive showings at the Jayhawk invitational and winning the Kingwood classic help.

Yes, of course these rankings reflect the first two weeks of the AAU season. Hence, in the Rivals article, it states "our crew of evaluators hit the road and made stops at all of the top grass-roots tournaments. There also have been countless hours of evaluating video and chasing down information from our trusted sources in the college, high school and pro levels."

Listen, a couple things...

1. I just disagreed with your statement that Howell will ever be a top 20 player IN TERMS OF RANKINGS. That is five star, and Howell is not that. Jerry Meyer is quoted in that article as saying that those guys are ranked on NBA potential, and will probably be one and done. Howell is a 6'7 PF, with limited explosiveness. He probably will be an excellent college player...maybe a star. I don't know, and neither do you. I wish the kid luck, but Izzo is not pursuing him, and there is a reason.

2. I replied to your original post about Howell in regards to your saying that Izzo not focusing on that area (Atlanta I presume) was "a joke." I thought this was a negative way to put this. For one, how do you know that he is not focusing on the area, and just not on Howell anymore? Secondly, Izzo has made it crystal clear that he likes to recruit families and not just their kids, and hence, he usually looks more local and midwestern.

3. You seem to imply that because Wilson is falling in the rankings that being interested in him, or Izzo wanting him, is being proven wrong. I am pretty sure Izzo doesn't care about what Jerry Meyer thinks, and will recruit based upon many things, but rankings will not be one.

4. I don't think it is worthwhile implying anything negative about our current recruits because they are "ranked lower" than Howell (as you did in the Howell thread). Me personally, I root for any Spartan commit to "tear it up" once he becomes a Spartan. Hence, if we get Howell tomorrow, I will love it, and route for him all day and night. Once a guy either chooses another school (ie. Strickland), or we lose interest in him I wish him the best, but lose interest.

That is it.

Yes, According to Rivals. Glen Bryant is at #104 but he plays at Oak Hill so he does not count.
