Offer from: Ohio State
Interest from: North Carolina, MSU, Florida, Notre Dame, Minnesota, and USC
This kid is a sophomore at Delvon's high school. One of our sales reps son coaches JV at St Ignatious (sp?) and is good friends with the varsity coach at St. Ed's. He says this kid is closer to 6'10" and is developing very quickly. Has a nice hook shot from 6-8 feet and is making big strides every day.
When our rep asked his son "Has anyone shown interest in him?" His son answered "I know Michigan State likes him."
Interesting that he would say that when he has an offer from OSU. But the buzz there is that the school is more excited that is showing interest than they are that OSU has already offered.

Was at the game today. Before the game Price and I'm guessing his father walked out with Coach Stephens and watched the players warm up. He had a spartan shirt on by the end of the game.

AWESOME!! Like I said, I had no idea if we had even contacted the kid, but I am glad we have because the people I know who know him say he is not only a good player, but also a very good kid as well.

Plus he's from one of the few schools in Ohio that isn't a straight up OSU feeder, and via Delvon's recruitment, has a relationship with St. Ed's as well.
Not to mention, & can carpool when visits LaTwan Anderson.

Is that a joke? He could be listed as 6'10" and has over a 7 foot wingspan (8'11" standing reach)... those are identical ht/length measurements as al horford entering the nba draft. He's real young for his grade so he should add some weight. I think he's around 225 now. That's GREAT size for a big ten big. His handle is irrelevant.

have you noticed that more and more teams are finding 6'8 6'9 SF in college. he has the same body style as CJ Leslie who can play the 3. so looking at our depth chart my question is relevant. also 225lbs centers do not really work in the big ten. ask Herzog.

Zach Price (6-foot-8.5, 8-foot-11 reach) – A long lefty, Price's go-to move is a reliable jumper with his strong hand. Still rough around the edges and not adept at scoring over his left shoulder, he is an intriguing prospect with his athleticism and length. Price also plays with a solid motor as a defender and rebounder.

Looks fairly solid in this shot. I'm sure he'll bulk up before and during his time at MSU. That's right, I'm calling it now, this is an Izzo kid.

Well this kid is 225 after his soph. year in HS. Herzog is 225 after his redshirt soph. year in college. Big difference

correct and this is where my original question comes into play. does he have the handles like a Durant and the ability to play some 3 or does he balk up and play the 4/5 only. my question was answered. the comment about his weight was in response to the poster saying 225lb is great size NOW for the big ten which would be true if he was all muscle but he is not.

Another great left handed prospect. MSU has done pretty well with those types in the past.

He's 15 freaking years old. Herzog was 7'1" and 225, not 6'9". Ed Davis and Jajuan Johnson were pretty effictive this past season at 215 lbs, and they were far from the only ones.

Exactly. It doesn't seem like his body will be an issue.

There's nothing fancy about Detroit, or Michigan State. My goodness, the most-cherished statistic in the Spartans' world is the humble rebound.

Price is definitely not a SF candidate at this point. Rarely handles the ball. That weight of 225 sounds a little suspicious as well. He certainly didn't look near that big last winter. His upper body is very thin. He has nice skills and you can tell he's oozing with potential, but he needs to play stronger. WAY stronger. At 6'9, his offense is almost entirely baby hooks and short jump shots. He gets very few easy buckets, and doesn't finish hard at the rim. Price does look like he's got another growth spurt in him, however. He's all arms and legs with huge feet. I wouldn't be surprised to see him end up 6'11 or so.

you seem to be a bit angry. if you look at price he would either need to bulk up on muscle, regardless of his weight, or would have to have the handles to be a 3 and then we would have a great advantage. now that i know he doesnt have the handles then he just needs to bulk up on muscle to play right away. i feel that he will do that so i think we are on the same page

Can you really complain about a kid needing to bulk up when he will be going into his junior year of high school this fall and hes 6'9"? Price has plenty of potential and skill for his height. He is a top notch prospect.
