We can say Davis is a point but if you take him and PLP in 2011, I imagine he sees a lot of time off the ball.
Just like Appling - he's a point, sure, but I bet our starting line-up for 2011 includes he and Lucious on the court together, making him a wing most of the time.
In conjuction, you start Lucious and Appling, and then have PLP as the reserve PG, and you again have Davis off the bench as a wing.

But if you take only Davis, he's your backup PG, and you have a guy like Kearney and another freshman backing up Appling and Byrd (your likely wing starters, I'd assume). That's my preference (and other's apparently) if I "play Izzo."

In a nutshell, what I'm saying is regardless of where you intend him, you take PLP and Davis both in 2011 and Davis (or PLP!) becomes a wing at first as a necessity.
I can't imagine you take both Davis and PLP in the same class after Appling with Ray Lee in 2012. You could play them together but there are a lot of minutes on the wing to be had in 2011 and beyond. Appling, Davis and PLP all want to be on the point and I don't think PLP does much for you off the ball. There just aren't that many spots open to have three PGs in those two classes. Need a PF and some wings...

Players that will compliment big bodies like Nix, Sherman and Gauna.
Sorry, that last part was a bit unclear, I wasn't trying to endorse the idea of taking both PLP and Davis in the phrase you highlighted, I was trying to suggest how it was related logically (taking both automatically makes Davis a wing). I'm in complete agreement with you and btl. One PG, one true wing, a combo, and a big in 2011.
