Ohio State's Matt Sylvester Spits On Student...

After the game an Izzone member sitting next to me was heckling Sylvester because he did not shake hands with the team and then he spit in his face. Really classy Sylvester

I thought that players were only allowed to have an attitude if they had talent.

Jerry meets Keith Hernandez and wants to make a good impression. Meanwhile, George is out of time on his unemployment and he works harder than ever on his scheme to get a 13 week extension. He tells the unemployment office he was really close on Vandelay Industries, a company that makes latex products and whose main office is Jerry's apartment. Kramer and Newman hate Hernandez back to a time when they were allegedly spit on by him; however, Jerry supports the "second-spitter theory." Keith asks Jerry about Elaine's status. Keith makes a date with her and breaks a date with Jerry.

For anyone to do this, let alone a college player in a conference that emphasizes sportsmanship more than any other, is ridiculous. If officials knew about this he would be gone for a game or two

agreed. This guy should get suspended for at least 1 game.

I can't believe the Izzone didn't start chanting "sufferin succatash" when Sylvester was at the line. The Izzone needs to start being more creative.

A tOSU Buckeye exhibiting rude behavior to a Spartan fan while exiting the playing area after a loss? Where have I heard of this happening previously?

(A: 1974. Woody Hayes punches a student in the post-game melee walking off the field at Spartan Stadium, caught by ABC cameras. I talked to the Spartan guy after the game, and he was digging it, with his bloody lip and all. And he told me what he yelled in Woody's ear to cause the retaliation; we both agreed that he deserved the punch. :D )

I noticed that Sylvestor was rather cocky during the game - why I don't know.

Not exactly the easiest chant plus why the heck does he deserve a chant when he averages about 4 fouls and 6 points a game?

I was a witness to the Illinois incident. The sign wasn't ripped, Brian Cook punched the sign and subsequently hit my friend in the process. BTW no charges were ever filed

He was probably aiming for you b/c of your **** user name. How many times do you have to hear that "Chi-town" is just unacceptable as a nickname for Chicago. It's actually easier to type out "Chicago" than it is is "Chi-Town", it has fewer characters.
I can't emphasize this enough, ghetto-ing the name of your city eg: Nap-town for Indianapolis or Oak-town for Oakland is ******ed. It adds no character and is ****ing stupid. STOP IT!
Sorry your friend got spit on.

COLLEGE ROUNDUP: Buckeyes' player suspended for incident at MSU

February 19, 2005

FREE PRESS STAFF AND NEWS SERVICES

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Ohio State forward Matt Sylvester was suspended for one game Friday by coach Thad Matta for unsportsmanlike behavior toward a Michigan State fan last week.

Ohio State did not specify what Sylvester did. A person who attended the Feb. 9 game at the Breslin Center told the Free Press that Sylvester spat at the unidentified fan.

The Spartans won the game, 83-69.

Sylvester hinted that he was provoked.

"You guys have seen fans, and that's what they do, and they're allowed to do that," Sylvester told scout.com. "I just reacted in a way that wasn't appropriate. ... But I can't talk any more about it."

Sylvester will miss today's game at Minnesota. He has written a letter apologizing to the fan and has been reprimanded by the Big Ten.

FTR, not a single story in the Columbus Dispatch has mentioned spitting. Their articles keep saying misconduct. What b.s.

BTW, this is the same dude who got shot in the ass while driving around as a passenger in a car in his home town two years ago.
