O M G!!!!! I love me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This just goes to show you that what we say on this board does get back to the Admin and JLS himself. Now, since JLS is in my camp and he "demands excellence" I want the Admin to take him up on his request to immediately go to work on the weight room and training facilities. If you want to someone to spearhead a fund raiser, just ask. {jls} You rock!

I wouldn't want a coach that didn't demand excellence out of his team. Otherwise what's the point? This was news?

The way I read this is that without doubt, anything less than a 9 win season JLS will fire himself and give back a good portion of his salary!

If he really "Demanded Excellence" then he would be on this board posting, where he can make a real difference! Instead he's just hanging out at the AD's office bitching about facilities, Coaching the Team, ect.

Um no. I'm not trying to cover anything. Can you understand the difference between a coach and a fan? A coach NEEDS to demand more out of his team immediately to save his job. A fan has the luxury of not being directly involved with the team and players. There is no such thing as a "Sunshine Blower" coach. You find me one of those and THEN you'll actually have a leg to stand on.

I realize that you're a shtick and I shouldn't even be replying.

I can't belive the Chicken Littles/Haters/DE clicque is trying to compare themselves to JLS.

A coach they have ripped and hated since he got here.

What a bunch of morans.

I can't really say I fall into either category but I agree completely with AA. There is a HUGE difference between what a coach says as demanding excellence and some of the out of control stupidity that you see from some of the RCMB Demand Excellence crowd at times.

RCMB Demand Excellence Crowd and JLS Demanding Excellence are not the same, just not remotely close.

YES!!!! Once again I prevail. Bow down before me slave.

And this is no schtick ask almost anyone if Jack Bauer (and yes its me despite the name change) is a schtick and they'll tell you I'm for real.
So you've got one crappy coach that deserved to be fired, and hundreds of other regular coaches that are actually trying to keep their jobs.

Dude. You are totally a shtick. No one is this dense unless they are kidding.

I bet he sits at home after practices and talks about how much we suck, haven't shown anything on the field, have been mediocre for 40 years, how Nick Saban was god, how we only get MAC level recruits, and how he should be fired for going 5-7 last year.

Not to mention the way he ripped on the hoop team last spring before the Final Four run.

I found one, and fulfilled your requirements. Don't try to backtrack, or change your wording now that I've made you look stupid with your own words. Hell even if I am a schtick I still just ran rings around you.
Sure. You've got a leg to stand on. Wayne Fontes. A man notorious for being an average underacheiving coach. Congratulations. The only person you're making look stupid is yourself, Jack.

Nope. Like usual, you're 100% wrong.

Having a leg to stand on = having a point in discussion. Does it mean that you're right? Nope. I'm not mad at you. I just know that you're wrong, as do most people on here. FWIW.

Don't let him keep goading you. The guy has a screw loose. Better to ignore him rather than try to apply logic when dealing with someone who is completely illogical.

He'll be banned again soon enough.

Jack is hysterical.

You're right Space. If the dude doesn't understand the difference between a coach and a fan's place and perspective, it's useless. However, I'll bet he say I got served.

After having a conversation w/ a position coach last year @ an MSU alumni event, I wouldn't put it past them. I was expecting the same 'Rah rah rah" crap come out of his mouth, but he was a "demand excellencer" to the core. I can't tell you how many times he said something to the effect "when we first got here we were SHOCKED. It's like the guys thought partying and carrying on was priority #1, and football down the list."

ummmm, no he didn't. Rick Pitino used the phrase.

This is an old article. It's nothing new. He wouldn't be a successful coach if he didn't demand excellence. Two HUGE differences between JLS and the DEs on this board: 1) When he demands excellence, he actually has an IMPACT on the team; and 2) He actually has confidence in his abilities, whereas most of you have little, if any, confidence in him.
