I apologize to Rick Comley

This was it folks. This put me into his corner!! There was every reason for us to lose tonight and we won in overtime. This was the heart and character win I was looking for since Comley took the bench. It may have taken a while to get, but I think we are shaping up for something special this season!!!

Al think about it - you were a DE for the hockey program and your constant pleas to FIRE COMLEY! finally paid off.

Give yourself some credit for demanding excellence and improving the program.

Al,

As someone who has been in Comley's corner the whole time, even I think you should have waited to cave. You stuck to your guns for the longest time, and now you're letting an OT win over Northern (and a few Labatts I presume) persuade you.

I've always thought the man would get it done because I trust the Silver Fox. But there was enough evidence to make me wonder if Mason had errored. As I supported Comley, you played Devil's advocate. Now the only one left to demand his termination is that GoGreen79 dude, and he wants everybody fired.

I think Northern is a quality conference opponent. My main reason for thinking this was a breakout win is the eight guys we had out for this game. Had we had a full roster I might be that the game went to OT.

Do you want me to delete this thread so there's no proof I made the statement?

I have had no strong feelings either way about Comley. I have been disappointed in the performance of the team under his coaching, but I dont follow MSU hockey close enough to know if its his fault, or the players fault, or whatever. That being said, after Bobby W beat um, I said to the guy I go to games with, "he is my coach for life". Either my life has been cut short without my knowing it, or .... Dont be too hasty with your decision Al.

As I have stated in another thread, a sweep of Northern this weekend would be HUGE!!! Northern is ranked and they are a formidable opponent. The fact that we are continuing to win despite all the injuries is nothing short of amazing.

Oh, and btw:

IS ARMAGEDDON UPON US? DO MY EYES DECEIVE ME? I have only had two beers tonight, so I know I'm not drunk, but I think I just read an apology to Comley by our own Spartan Al. What's next? A 300 yard/4 TD passing game by the Lions own Joey Harrington?

Al, you need to give up golf ASAP. It's really doing some strange things to your logic, as it's been known to do. You have a bad round and your entire day is screwed, and bad decisions are soon to follow.

Golf is a curse! Run for your life........................................

This thread doesn't shock me at all, Al was part of the tame group of Fire Comleys.

Careful Al....we're only 5 games into the season. While the start is nice, I'd wait to see how the season finishes up before you jump to conclusions.

Kinda like the Fire Comley/Comley Apologist threads last year about 10 games in.

This is Comley's 4th season. His record thus far has been less than stellar.

I'm too tired and pissy to search back to show you the more extreme Fire Comley crew.

Yeah, that first year we narrowly missed the tournament with a team that would've cooked the team in his 2nd year that made the NCAA tournament, so, you're right, last year, in year three, all of 7 games in he should've been canned.
