TAMPA, Fla. (AP) - North Carolina's pro football team got rid of two cheerleaders who were arrested at a bar where witnesses told police the women were having sex with each other in a restroom stall.
Renee Thomas, 20, of Pittsboro, N.C., and Angela Keathley, 26, of Belmont, N.C., were fired Monday for violating a signed code that bans conduct embarrassing to the team or organization, Carolina Panthers spokesman Charlie Dayton said.
The women were not in town to perform at Sunday's game between the Panthers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Thomas was charged with battery for allegedly striking a bar patron when she was leaving the restroom. She was released from the Hillsborough County Jail on $500 bail before police learned she had given them a driver's license belonging to another Panthers cheerleader not in Tampa.
Detectives were trying to determine how Thomas got the driver's license of a third cheerleader.
Thomas was charged Monday with giving a false name and causing harm to another — a third-degree felony punishable by probation or a jail term of one to five years, said police spokeswoman Laura McElroy.
Keathley was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, and was released on $750 bail. The women could not be reached for comment Monday.
This story is just too good to go away quickly, possibly the story of the year. And, just another example of why the Lions suck so bad (no cheeleaders).
I personally think this is the best thing those girls could have done, I'm sure they will be in Maxim, Penthouse, and on their way to stardom faster than you can imaging. B-movies, soft-porn....they've struck it rich, seriously.
Bump.

There is a pretty good chance this was a PR stunt.
Penthouse magazine is making an offer to the former cheerleaders. The P.R. woman for the magazine confirmed it Monday night. The nationally known men's magazine wants to cash in on what allegedly went on inside the bars bathroom stall. The former Panther cheerleaders are accused of having sex with each other and starting a fight.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - A former Carolina Panthers cheerleader pleaded not guilty to three charges after she and another cheerleader were arrested at a Tampa nightclub.
Renee Thomas, 20, and Angela Keathley, 26, were arrested Nov. 6 after an incident outside a bathroom at a bar, the night before the Panthers played at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Thomas is charged with giving a false name to a police officer, battery and unlawful display of a license. The giving a false name charge is a felony; the other two charges are misdemeanors.
A circuit court clerk in Hillsborough County, Fla., said Friday that Thomas was not present at Thursday's hearing and entered a not guilty plea through her lawyer, Robert Warchola of Tampa. Her next court date was set for Feb. 15.
Warchola did not return calls seeking comment Friday.
The arrests made headlines because a police report said patrons waiting in line to use the bathroom were angry because they believed Thomas and Keathley were having sex in a stall.
Thomas has denied any sexual conduct and another witness has discounted the sex story, saying Thomas was drunk.
Melissa Holden, the alleged assault victim, has filed a lawsuit against Thomas.
Ex-Panthers cheerleader gets six months' probation
TAMPA, Fla. -- A former Carolina Panthers cheerleader got six months' probation for her role in a bathroom brawl sparked by accusations that she was having sex with another cheerleader.
Angela Keathley, 26, pleaded guilty Wednesday to disorderly conduct and obstructing a police officer during the Nov. 6 fight, which broke out when women in line to use the bathroom made the allegations about Keathley and fellow cheerleader Victoria Renee Thomas.
Thomas, 20, denied the sex allegation. She has pleaded not guilty to giving a false name to a police officer, battery and unlawful display of a license.
The Panthers fired the pair for violating a signed code that bans conduct embarrassing to the Panthers.
