but they will die in your digestive system right? the little bastard wouldnt be swimming around in my stomach i hope. If a person were to be drunk enough i would guess it would just get puked up anyway.

Live gold fish are highly nutritious and digestable. Unfortunately the tape worms they carry are not.

I am sort of joking. The odds are probably nill. Wild fish can have tapeworms, but tank raised goldfish...highly unlikely. My father and i used to catch and clean perch caught from the Great Lakes and we would find a tapeworm in maybe 1 out of 100 fish. Tapeworms are intestinal parasites that can live inside humans, and they do, especially in poor countries. Not a healthy prospect!

1 gold fish can have upto 100 tapeworms. Tapeworms are bacteria that latch onto your blood cells..hence you can get really sick..or you can even get a disease..Don't do this man. Please..just don't do it.

I ate 6 live goldfish one drunken night. I didn't get sick and had no problems when they came out the other end either.

I've done a fish shot.

If you're rationalizing if it's safe or not, you're not drunk enough. Return to the keg line, drown yourself in more Busch light, then return to aquarium for your fish.

Steve-O did it on Jackass, but then he it back up. And it wasn't a small goldfish either.

Back at MSU some guy and I at a frat house got into a live goldfish eating contest. We both had over 20 of the things before the hosts ran outta fish. Not sure if it was the fish or the massive amounts of alcohol I consumed but the next day I felt so bad I could barely move.

Not only is it safe, but in many cultures it's required.

These are tastier and more appropriate for anyone that would even ask about eating live goldfish.
