You know, this has honestly sort of become like a mini-holiday/anniversary in my life, the annual resurrection of the Green Giant column. And, I have to say, it's sort of become fun even for me (although, unlike MLK day, I don't get a day off).

See you next year.

So, you're saying the Green Giant is not dead?

Congrats on the job... and good luck with the brief.

I think when I die, somebody from Spartan Tailgate is going to come carve, "Remember the Green Giant column dummy!" on to my tombstone.

In fact, I hope they do, and will chuckle about it in the afterlife.

I got a good chuckle out of this. Glad to see he's a good sport about it.

Glad you have a sense of humor about it Jim.

We look forward to the bump every year too. Just to remind us that those cheaters in Ann Arbor are just as far behind us as ever.

I love this quote,

"Red Smith once said something along the lines of if you're going to make a prediction, make one that's going to make you look either totally brilliant or totally wrong, because everyone forgets the ones that are totally wrong.
Red obviously never wrote about Michigan State much."

That dude will never live the column down. At least he accepts it. So much for credibility. Once it's gone, it's usually gone. His judgment speaks for itself.
